Hey, I’m gonna be attending Grand Valley this fall, and I was wondering if there was anyone who goes there, or went there, that could tell me about what the general atmosphere regarding gay people is like?

I think it totally depends on what part of the city you go to. I live in Grand Rapids. Although I moved here post-college, I know GVSU has an active LGBT group. I don’t know what the atmosphere on campus is like but they should be able to tell you?

I just moved into a place by Eastown last week and my dad warned me about the Dutch, LOL.
I just signed up as a volunteer for the West Michigan PRIDE fest happening in June, and I’m hoping to run into the GVSU group. I know there is one, but I don’t know how active/big it is.

Eastown is a great place to live! Super artsy. Have you had any luck finding a job?

I’m waiting to hear back on one, he was s’posed to call me today but didn’t so I guess I’ll have to call tomorrow. :X I’ve also emailed and dropped off resumes at some places, hopefully something pans out soon.

Anyone going to any of the Gay Pride Parades this summer? I plan on going to the one in Detroit if anyone wants to meet up :)

I’m getting closer to moving to the Grand Rapids/Allendale area and am looking for jobs and places to live. Anyone have any suggestions for what may be opening up around beginning of May?

If you like working with kids I know my org. always hires people for our summer program. it’s middle school and/or elementary aged kids. I could give you the contact information if you want.

I don’t have much exp. w/kids but my friend who’s moving with me may be interested. He’s really into open learning and wants more experience with teaching and working w students so that may be right up his alley. :)

Anything GLBT (obviously!) would be cool, but I’m also into anything to do with media, graphic design, art, that kind of stuff, maybe helping nonprofits with flyers or press copy. Or animals, animals are cool too :3

Doctor Whovians 11 years, 7 months agoBecause I had to wait for it to be put on Netflix and then forgot about it I JUST SAW the episodes with the Silence/spaceman/President Nixon! ASNDLAKMDFFFF!!! I think I might like this more than Blink! …I just wanted to rave about it somewhere even though I’m very late. Thank you.
