If you liked Freedom, you should read The Corrections (also by J Franz)! It’s for real one of my all-time favs. And haven’t read The Pale King yet, but have been hearing good things…

Yes! Read The Corrections, I think I may actually prefer it to Freedom, but I did read is about six years ago so I don’t remember it that well. But I thought that Patty’s diary section of Freedom was particularly good. And the bit with Bright Eyes, but only because I love Conor Oberst.

Thanks. I’ve read The Corrections along with the rest of his work… like 5 times because I’m nuts like that. I think it’s a more accessible novel than Freedom.
As far as Freedom goes, it was interesting how he had another ambitious, young, Indian female character juxtaposed against a Midwest setting again in it after 27th City.
