I read ‘The Lottery’ to someone a while ago and they didn’t like it. Weird. Sure it feels a touch “lets study this in high school’ (I did study it in high school) but there is also more to it.
Megan Mayhew Bergman did a ‘cover story’ of Jackson’s “The Lottery” for McSweeney’s. Also published in her book, “Almost Famous Women.” Worth a read.
