Also Working On It 8 years, 3 months agoHello! As of Thursday I finish my treatment for lymphoma (which involved chemo and radiotherapy). I used to be so fit and strong, but cancer and the treatment have definitely changed that!
My cancer centre has an exercise physiologist, and I’m going to a rehab gym. So far it’s going really well – I do two 45 minute resistance sessions a week, and…[Read more]

Also Working On It 8 years, 3 months agoAfter Pride I decided to give up beer for a month, cuz I think Indrank about five gallons a day during June (not entirely an over exaggeration… We were celebrating pretty hard!) I’m now in week two, substituting lots of water infused with lemons and berries for a nice cold refreshing drink that I won’t feel bad about guzzling by the gallon in…[Read more]

Also Working On It 8 years, 3 months agoHave you guys ever heard of “The Plank Challenge?” You do “The Plank” every day for a month, gradually increasing the time you hold it.
There are a ton of free, simple apps which count down the time alloted for each day and I strongly recommend this!
It’s a work out for core strength that uses your own body weight, is very effective and it doesn’t…[Read more]-
@amidola There are days when all the exercise I do is a couple minutes of planking, and this inspires me to get a little more consistent and thoughtful about it. Thanks for the tip!

I’ve just started a 30 day ab challenge that includes planking! I’ll be sharing lots of feelings about the app in an upcoming post but so far I’m really enjoying it. I can only plank for 30 seconds but that number has been slowly increasing, which is nice.

Plank makes baby Jesus cry. (At least they’re not burpees.)

Congratulations on getting through treatment! That’s major. It must have been so hard.
Thankyou :) It was pretty tough but I’m so glad to be alive and (almost) well now!
Congratulations!! My friend just got through two sets of chemo and a double mastectomy and has been chewing at the bit to finally get working out again!
Just some advice:
Rest and nutrition are just as important factors as the actual exercising.
Your body has been running a full Ironman Triathlon plus a World Championship Cross Fit Competition…[Read more]
Thankyou! Yeah, I keep telling myself not to be too hard on myself, but it’s difficult not to be constantly comparing my current state to what it used to be.
So far the trick has been exercising with friends – especially friends who are less intense/fit than I used to be, but more fit than I am now. Like, this morning I went for a bike ride with…[Read more]
