Eh, parts of Brooklyn are cheaper. If I were you I’d throw on a heavy coat and hit the pavement. Walk around neighborhoods you’ve heard about. Keep in mind your daily transportation needs, which should be really high on your priority list. A bad commute will suck your soul dry in less than 6 months.

Certain parts of Brooklyn are cheaper but as more and more parts of it become gentrified, the rent climbs higher and higher.
I live in Astoria and I love it! I’m 10min from midtown east, the local ethnic supermarkets are way cheaper than your standard supermarket, and there are tons of restaurants and bars here as well!

It’s interesting but I don’t buy it because often that testosterone fueled power turns to violence (not necessarily physical) and it’s frequently directed at those weaker. The person in power isn’t abused typically.
It’s fun to think about how women are actually the power behind the thrones as it were but it’s fantasy.
