Genderstraddlers 12 years, 5 months agoIt just bugs me the way different gender expressions always seem to be either a funny halloween costume or grounds for general dislike. Hopefully when I go to college that’ll change

Yeah I know the feeling. Unfortunately it happens in university/college too (disrespectful people are sadly ubiquitous) but I do think that those type of academic environments often bring a lot of people with all sorts of life experiences and perspectives together and that really makes a difference. I’m just finishing up my first year of…[Read more]

Genderstraddlers 12 years, 5 months agoJust saw this and it made me smile- I thought it might be relevant to your interests :) (I hope the link works alright although I don’t think it will embed or anything- it’s a link to a song called “Fuck Heteronormativity” based on Taylor Swifts “You Belong with Me”) Hope everyone is doing well!

Genderstraddlers 12 years, 5 months agoSo I’m doing the tuxedo thing for prom, and (ugh I sound ridiculous) I don’t know what to do about my hair. It’s recently been cut quite short, basically this, and I have options now. Slicked back? Attempted fauxhawk? I’m tormented.
-
If I were you I’d get some hair gel and spend an unnecessary amount of time standing in front of a mirror trying different styles/experimenting with what will actually be feasible/inevitably shaping the spikiest fauxhawk possible and running around the house like godzilla.
For reals though, I do think it’s pretty hard to look bad with a subtle…[Read more]

My hair is a bit too long to go with the subtle fauxhawk look; it’ll have to be Elly Jacksony. I’ve always enjoyed slicking my hair back, but I’ve never worn it out in public, much like my first dress shirt. I get the same feeling from both things. I may just have to go for this, just like my gay friend who I’m going with borrowing my eyeliner.…[Read more]

Are we talking slicked back like Chloe Sevigny in ‘If These Walls Could Talk 2’ (ugh, if ever a movie needed a new name…)? Because I don’t think that could EVER fail. Or you could always just go for the ever-adorable slightly tousled look even if it’s not exactly standard prom material. :P
And my hair naturally fauxhawks itself every time I dry…[Read more]
