Thanks. I’ve told V, which solved the immediate problem and I’m working on coming out to the group. I’ve just been coming out these last couple of months and its so immensely liberating, I can’t wait to BE out, but HATE all the awkward conversations necessary to reach that point. Starting my master’s in a new city/new university with new people, including new (7!) housemates. I keep bringing up my ex gf to new people because i want to come out as quickly as possible, but that means people think i’m still hung up on her and they think i’m oversharing and weird.

My strategy is to get to know those around me first and hear what gay terms they might throw around, as in their bashing and such. Then I approach those I feel more comfortable coming out to first (the ones that seem more gay friendly) and allow them to take the approach of telling others… I don’t think EVERYONE needs to know up front.
