Browncoats, Scoobies & other Whedonites 12 years agoLOVING the Buffy comics, I don’t know why I was so hesitant to try them.
-
I KNOW. Way better than I was expecting them to be.
-
I’m a massive comic nerd from way back, so Buffy comics (and now Dollhouse!) are like two of my favorite things joining forces to create awesomeness*.
* = I’m pretending that bullshit never happened to Giles because I cannot psychologically deal with it.
-
Now I am both excited to start reading the comics and terrified about what happens to Giles?!?!?!
-
Luckily, there’s some indication in the latest ‘Angel & Faith’ comics that the Giles bullshit could be undone. Fingers crossed!

Browncoats, Scoobies & other Whedonites: 12 years agoA while back I saw a guy getting off a train with a brown tshirt on that said ‘Browncoat’ in tiny font in the middle of it. I really wanted to hug him, but then again he looked like he didn’t much like social contact. Browncoats FTW.

The Great Library of Autostraddle 12 years, 1 month agoMap of Ireland by Stephanie Grant is set in Boston in the 1970’s and deals with coming out and race issues from the perspective of a teenage girl. I watched The Weather Underground documentary not too long ago which turned out to be great historical context for this book.
