They kissed. The two beautiful femmes quite obviously on a dinner date and very much in love. My mom notices, stares, and then says “I just don’t get it. I don’t understand the attraction.”
There I sit, awkwardly ruffling my hair, not. saying. anything.
She has made it clear she would refuse to understand if I told her.

Reason 489 that food allergies have ruined my life.
Back story: I’m allergic to coco, wheat, gluten, and carry around an EpiPen in case I accidentally come in contact with almonds.
Alright. Few months ago. I go into one of those fudge places to get a carmel apple. I get my sans nuts (the way everything should be) apple, and wait to pay. Obviously…[Read more] -

today i had to hide underneath my window because my neighbors’ kids were playing outside and being super loud and annoying, but i didn’t want my neighbor to see i was home and feel bad that her kids were being loud and annoying outside my window. i think she saw me anyway. it was awkward.

Anyone have a current project they’d like to share?
My last “project” was to watch every episode of Doctor Who still in existence, but the 60s acting was wooden and I got bored, so now I’m learning to program instead. Is it a good idea to switch over to Linux when you don’t know very much and learn as you go, or should I wait a while?
-
If you have another system I’d switch over on one to Linux, just that way if you’re stuck or whatever you have something else you can use in a pinch. Not that I know very much about computers and/or coding.
My last “project” (not as self-imposed as yours I suppose) was to learn all I possibly could for a neuroscience competition for high…[Read more]

I agree with Jamie: only switch one machine to Linux. But don’t worry, Linux is not as scary as it seems. some drivers give annoying issues at first, but everything is reconcilable. Which distro are you thinking about installing?
My summer project is to narrow down my list of summer project ideas so I can actually pick something to work on. But…[Read more]

God damn it I really haven’t learned my lesson about “not saying I’m a giant dyke in public in my small, conservative town.”
We were in the library fourth period and everybody was talking about their celebrity crushes and I oh-so-innocently mentioned Keira Knightley and guess what?
There’s crickets in our fucking library. They need to get that…[Read more]

same. we were supposed to be taking an online test/quiz/thing too.

i thought even straight girls went for keira knightley. that was my experience watching pirates late at night with my straight hallmates back in high school. they got more hot and bothered over her than i did. i call bullshit on your library cohorts!

I told my Mum that I was gay after we watched a Westboro Baptist Church documentary, and spoke about how she ‘didn’t agree with the WBC but she also didn’t agree with IT (homosexuality)’ I don’t think I could of picked a worse time to come out.
I don’t know. I mean, her thoughts aside, basically everybody hates the WBC so it’s useful as a tool to force people to be anti-anti-gay.
/: that sounds like it was majorly awkward. Everyone does hate the WBC. Hopefully she’ll grow to be more accepting now that you’re out.
Well then you should probably avoid telling her until you are safe and your education is paid for. But just remember that sometimes what transforms a fuckhead into a PFLAG parent is having a gay kid.
I’m hoping that me telling her will have that effect. I know there will come a point in the future where she’ll accept it, because her problem is honestly just a refusal to understand. I’m lucky enough that if I did choose to deal with that right now, she wouldn’t kick me out of the house or do anything drastic. I just don’t really want to face it…[Read more]
My mum told me that being gay was something important men (e.g. celebrities and ancient kings) tried because too many women wanted them and they were bored when I was a kid. My cousin also told me 2 women kissing was disgusting.
They both love me now and are 100% on board :)
