Tumblr pointed out to me that all the characters in the movie had emotions with gender presentations that matched those characters gender, except for the main character, Riley. She had three female presenting emotions, two male presenting emotions (I’m not sure if emotions have genders, even in movies). Obvious…[Read more]

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but in watching previews online, I noticed the exact same thing, and almost immediately headcanoned Riley as bi-gender. Don’t know if the filmmakers intended it or not (given their paymasters’ track record with queer issues, I’m going *not*), but it’s pretty obvious to me.
