We Love Documentaries 9 years, 6 months agoDoes anyone know any good LGBT documentaries? I’ve seen Before and After Stonewall, the celluloid Closet, The life and times of Harvey Milk and Paragraph 175. I learned so much and I would love to learn more, so any documentaries would be helpful.

“For The Bible Tells Me So” and “One Nation Under God” are both very good LGBTQ religious centered docs.
“Small Town Gay Bar” is a pretty entertaining doc on…well…small town gay bars lol.
“How To Survive A Plague” and “We Were Here” are both good docs centered about the gay community during the AIDS epidemic.

Strongly seconding many of Myah’s recc’s (For the Bible, HTSAPlague, We Were Here) and throwing in an older classic (available on iTunes): Paris is Burning, a doc on the ball culture in 80s NYC. It’s a classic (and was directed by a lesbian).
