I’m moving to GR next spring, and I’ve never spent more than a few days at a time there so I was wondering–where’s the best part of the city to find inexpensive housing and/or easy employment? Since restaurant work is the only thing I have documented experience with, I’ll probably have to settle for that for a bit unless I get more freelance experience in what I *actualy* want to do before I move away from TC.

    • Eastown is a fairly cheap and fun neighborhood to live in, lots of college students, coffee shops and bars. And it’s close to downtown. It’s mostly big houses broken up into apartments.
I live in Alger Heights and it’s a fantastic neighborhood, but mostly single family homes (no apartments) and lots of young families. Not so much nightlife, but still close enough to downtown. If you look a bit further out like in Wyoming, there are tons of apartment complexes if that’s what you are looking for.
