We Love Documentaries: 12 years, 3 months agoIt would have to be “Forbidden Love” – its really sweet and very candid. “A wonderful documentary about coming out in the 1950s … a group of women are interviewed & a background story unfolds as well . Great historical piece with a focus on the roles of butch/femme as demanded by the time. ” […]

so. it’s been a long time since i’ve logged in. i’ve been having some problems & not dealing with them very well. miss the groups we got going here, though, so…back i come.
i’m actually working through a traumatic thing that happened last year. my counselor is having me journal about it and then share parts of it during our sessions. up to…[Read more]-
I get your feelings. I’ve had to move back to my tiny isolated hometown for the summer and it’s causing me to avoid leaving the house as much as possible, including avoiding friends and drinking a whole lot to try and forget where I am. I think journaling is probably a helpful thing for this… also hugs! Here, have a consensual and platonic…[Read more]

thank you, @kimbit. *hug* it takes so much energy to make an effort to be social. sometimes it’s just not there to draw on. i’m comforted by the fact that my friends understand things are tough at the moment.
…and i’m sorry to hear that you’re not having a very good summer. i hope you get to go back to living in a place that you enjoy and feel…[Read more]

i know how you feel; i’m going through something somewhat similar at the moment, where it’s really hard to want to be in other people’s company unless they’re really close friends (and hence less effort) – but things do get better. hang in there :) i’d also agree with what kimbit suggested, writing or some other form of expressing yourself…[Read more]

We Love Documentaries: 12 years, 3 months agoI loved The Union; I watched it up at school with my chapter of Norml and it was really interesting. I also recently watched Murderball which is about wheelchair rugby and sparked my interest in the sociology of sport. The Age of Stupid is also really good.

We Love Documentaries 12 years, 3 months agoJust watched This Film Is Not Yet Rated on Netflix. Really interesting and definitely worth checking out. If anyone has seen or will watch, let me know if you were left feeling frustrated and angry afterwards.

I came out to my mom a few years ago, by telling her about my girlfriend. Her first question was, “Is that what the short hair is about?” I got really defensive about how my haircut was totally irrelevant, etc. but thinking back on it, she was right. Thankfully, I didn’t really have to ‘come out’ to that many more people in my immediate life…[Read more]
