Any other composers here? What sorts of things are you working on right now? I’m almost finished with a piece for voice, and I really love it. I’m starting to think that maybe vocal writing is my “thing” and I should focus on that more from now on.

i arranged an accompanied brahms lied for piano solo, does that count?
by the way what notation program(s) do you use, do you have any recommendations? i use musescore and it’s quite fiddly, i guess nothing compares to the ease of pencil and eraser.

  I’d recommend Sibelius, its not perfect but it can do almost anything; and its pretty intuitive so it doesn’t take too long to learn.
  BUT its suuuper expensive so you’d need to download it or get a cracked copy, unless you’re rich

    nah, dude. I’m all about finale. But really, it’s not that different from sibelius. They’re both great software choices. I’ve been using finale for a couple of years now, and it’s been pretty great.

    One of my fellow comp majors said that Sibelius vs. Finale is like Mac vs. PC for composers, and I think he’s right. Anyway, I’m on Team Sibelius – I find it less confusing to use and I like the look of the scores better.
