Hey, I’m Megan, 22, and in the Central Michigan area. I like it when I come home from class/work and my cat is by the door to greet me. Right now I’m finishing up my undergrad and will be going to grad school so I can get my BCBA. Most of my time is spent with kids under 5, so I’m really missing adult conversation and company!

Any ladies out there in the Eugene, OR area and feel like going for a hike/sharing a glass of wine? Just moved back here (hometown) and am excited to re-get-to-know-Eugene as an adult! Would love to share the experience with some company :)

Tarot School 9 years, 3 months agoI just had to share this:
I finally got the library’s copy of Greer’s 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card this afternoon. Last night, when I was doing a spread I made based on Dani’s Something Greater Than you Pride Edition (Thanks for the idea, Elisabeth!), I pulled The Devil in the “where do I want to be/Future” position. While writing on it, I was…[Read more] -

I was hoping for something really cheerful and optimistic. What I got was the bitter truth. Shoot!

Tarot School 9 years, 3 months agoI have a question for people who read with reversals! I think there’s a lot we could talk about with reversals in general that would be super interesting, but the other day I was stumped with a particular reading — I got a reversed card (Queen of Pentacles, if it helps) in a position in the spread that indicated something receding, or a quality t…[Read more]

It might be helpful to know what the other cards were in the reading. I think card reversals can mean many different things and can really depend on the individual reading. It would be interesting to have a thread here about reversals.
My initial thought is that it might mean that the energy present in the reversed Queen is something like lack…[Read more]-
thank you Elisabeth! the idea of “needing to turn the card right side up” is brilliant and feels like it makes a lot of sense. the other thought i’ve been mulling over for this reading is that the reversed Queen of Cups might be a reference to unhealthy or toxic modes of nurturing, like codependence or smothering, which would make sense in the…[Read more]

Wow, Rachel! Everything about this reading screams relationship and change.
I get the sense from the Two of Wands that you may be feeling trapped in the relationship. (You don’t have to respond to this, I’m just musing and practicing.) And wonder if the reversed Six of Swords refers to a moving on that you know is happening/going to happen but…[Read more]

This is so interesting, and different than what I originally interpreted! Thank you for your insight, Elisabeth! I had read the 2 of Wands as pointing to concerns (either mine, my partner’s, or both) about being able to maintain individuality and our own individual agency within a relationship, which makes sense as that’s something I’ve…[Read more]

I hope I didn’t confuse the issue. You seem to already have had a really good grasp of the reading. I realized as I read your reply that there are many different positions for the Celtic Cross too. I wonder if it is possible to read a CC reading properly from every different perspective. Thanks for providing the source of your info, btw. I…[Read more]

I really like Elisabeth’s idea about learning to stop trying to turn the card right-way-up, letting go of this idea of being a ‘perfect woman’ and a nurturer… I also see this card as passing out of your life right now, and thus a sense of confusion around the
Personally, though, I really feel that reversed cards add a layer of smog to a…[Read more]

I’d love to hear the answers to this, too. I have one deck that includes some really basic meanings for reversals (The Vision Tarot–I found it while moving!) and another that doesn’t use reversals according to the creator of the deck. I find the one with reversals hard to read for similar reasons, and the meanings often seem completely…[Read more]

this is something i’ve found it helpful to refer to in the past on reversals — thinking of the traditional meaning of the card being blocked or delayed or out of proportion makes sense to me, especially because it doesn’t necessarily change the upright meaning of the card, just put that meaning in a different perspective. I’m reading through P…[Read more]

I did a large reading last night that was pretty confusing with the reversals until I gave up on the “traditional” meanings that were included with the deck, and just started going with an approach that starts from the “normal” reading and looks at the reversal in a more negative light. I like the article you linked because I was mostly just…[Read more]

Tarot School 9 years, 3 months agoSo this is a long shot, but are any of you lovely queermos selling a Collective Tarot deck? I know, I know. Why the heck would you want to part with it? But I want to get my grubby little mitts on it somehow and would probably pay a worrying amount of money for it.
It sounds like they definitely won’t be printing another round of decks, like, ever :( -

Tarot School 9 years, 4 months agoAnyone know of a good spread (or want to create one?!) for when you are standing at a cross-roads in life, with multiple paths you could choose to pursue?
-
What a coincidence! I was just thinking of this the other day. I kept thinking about the two of rods in Potter’s deck.
I was thinking it could take the form of a y, with the end of the y representing where you’re currently at and then two lines veering off of that representing two choices, or different paths. That only gives you two paths though. -
Decision making spreads, forking path (I guess that’s what I was thinking of), and crossed paths.
-
This is really simplistic, but I like to draw a card for each option I’m considering. If it’s a crossroads between two paths, I’ll draw I card for Path A, a card for Path B, and a card for Off the Path – “Something Else I Haven’t Thought of Yet?” I’ll lay these out horizontally, and if it’s necessary or interesting to do so, I’ll continue by…[Read more]
