Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 2 months agoI admit it, I totally laughed when I saw the name of this group. I can’t live without meat – if I go without it for a day, I actually feel like I haven’t properly eaten. And feeling like I’ve properly eaten is important in order to enjoy all the zombie / alien movies I watch. Resident Evil… yeah! (And not just for Milla Jovovich, either ;-)

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 3 months agoAck! So exciting! Geek overload coming on! Harry Potter this weekend, Captain America next and the Cowboys vs. Aliens the week after!! I am so going to swoon over seeing Daniel Craig’s ass in Wranglers (He’s on my ‘I’d go straight for’ list)
-
What did you think of Captain America? I liked it, but thought Thor was better (though that may be partly because I loved Sif).
-
I loved Cap, I think it’s a good old fashioned Super hero movie. Much in the spirit of Christopher Reeve’s Superman. Most exciting though was the Avengers teaser after the credits. I literally had goosebumps!

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 3 months agoSo do any of you follow Skepchick/Pharyngula/Skeptic’s Guide to the universe? Can you believe how ridiculous this whole thing with Rebecca Watson and *gasp* feminism has gotten? A woman tells guys to not be creepy and suddenly she is a penis stomping feminazi
-
The whole thing has been so ridiculous. Amanda Marcotte has had some good writing on it. I thought Watson’s related post on how skepticism and atheism made her a feminist were really interesting.
-
I’m hoping Dawkins will apologize. I’m not going to boycott (although I know Rebecca didn’t call for a boycott, even though that’s the way it’s being reported) his work, but it’s going to be hard to for me to read the God Delusion without feeling disappointed/pissed off now.
I think the trouble is the huge number of skeptics who think he was…[Read more]

Did anyone see the lesbians with alternative lifestyle haircuts making out on QC today? Totally made my day. Helped me forget that Tai/Dora will probably never happen no matter how much I want it.

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 3 months agoI was starting to think I was a minority by being a meat eating lesbian, and now I find a group that encourages my meat-eating atheist ways, can my weekend get ANY better?

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 3 months agoSo some lady came up to me at work the other day looking for Gouda cheese, because some quack on Dr. Oz said that eating two slices of Gouda a day was good for your heart. I hear Dr. Oz and all I can think is “quack quack quack”
-
Oh I found a link:
http://healthybodydaily.com/dr-oz-cancer/dr-oz-gouda-cheese-can-reduce-cancer-risk-three-secret-weapons-to-prevent-cancer
Ha the cheeses he named aren’t even “hard” cheeses. They all fall in the semi-soft category, LOL -
You say “quack quack quack” and all I can think is “I am Docteur LeQuack. Where eez ze pay-shaunt?”
That being said, wut. According to Wikipedia K2 is found in all sorts of meats, dairy, eggs, and natto (fermented bean paste). I’m betting Dr Oz is getting some kind of monetary compensation from cheese manufacturers.
-
oh geez, I love Doctor LeQuack. Courage the Cowardly dog is one of the best cartoons ever!
-
I only know it through friends, unfortunately, but yep!
