Fencestraddlers 11 years, 9 months agoStraddlers, 26 yr old bi cisgal here and I need your advice. I am in a LTR with a man whom I love very much, we have been dating for 7 years (crazy, I know!) and we live together. My BF and I have plans to travel the world, possibly teach abroad after he finishes university (we both started college late).
I am worried about our commitment,…[Read more]

Sounds like me a few years ago. In my case, I did a lot of growing. A LOT. A lot of learning. A lot of patience. A lot of messing up. But it was worth it. Today I am in a very happy polyamorous relationship with a man and a woman. We are in a triangle, which means we are all together, just how I wanted. Other polys I know have vees (ie. you with…[Read more]

This sounds like me, too! Though, unlike Leesa, I am all about monogamy. I was in a monogamous relationship with a guy for five years. Spoiler alert: we broke up.
The thing is, I was planning our wedding while second-guessing my commitment every step of the way, and that is TELLING. If you find yourself wondering if you should even be in the…[Read more]-
Totally agree! Good luck with whatever you decide. I think it might be stressing you out more to think that this is all about sexuality, when, when it comes down to it, the most important thing is: you’re in a LTR, and you have doubts. I don’t think any doubts mean the relationship isn’t worth it, but you def. have to consider whether you’re…[Read more]

I’ve been living abroad for a while, but I’m actually from italy…does that count? :-) I suppose it’s not very useful for socializing, but I didn’t want you to feel desperate about your attempt!

me too! queer femme studying art in Florence! Let me know if anyone’s up for a meet!

Eurostraddlers 11 years, 10 months agoHello everybody!
Anyone from Germany?-
yep.
whats your hometown, fellow german?-
hey!
I live near Nürnberg in Bavaria. where are you from?
-
I’m from Hamburg but I live in Vienna at the moment.
-
I love Vienna! It’s got so many great museums – I study art history, so I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to art museums …
Did you move there because of university/a job?-
yes. Es herrscht kulturelle Reizüberflutung in dieser Stadt:) so many things to do and see…so it’s probs the art historians paradise
yep,I moved here for university… I study literature -
but nürnberg is very beautiful itself…and has quite a lot of culture to offer hasn’t it. went there as a kid and really liked it:)
-
Totale Reizüberflutung! I’ve only been to Vienna once for about a week and there was just so much I wanted to see that I had a really hard time making up my mind …
Literature, nice – why did you decide to study in Austria, not Germany?
Oh yes, Nürnberg can be very lovely as well! Though I’m afraid most tourists come here for the Christkindlesmarkt ; )

TravelStraddle 11 years, 10 months agoSo I’m from CA, but I’ll be interning in DC this summer. Planning for a trip up to NY, New England and Quebec prior to that.
Any advice?
btw, if anyone is going to Montreal there’s a “lesbian bike shop” called Bikurious, and they’ll fix your bike or give you an alternative haircut. sweet.

TravelStraddle 11 years, 10 months agoI’m going to be backpacking through Europe for a couple of months in 2013. For those of you who have traveled throughout Europe, what kind of advice can you provide? Flying in and out of Germany, traveling to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Austria.
-
where is your flight going?in which city are you gonna start your trip? when is your trip?summer?winter?…I’m a german who has lived in sweden and is living in austria….and I#ve seen ALL THE PLACES…well no,thats not really true but I do like to travel and would like to share my wisdom

my advice to learn to ride a bike prior if you don’t know how. In Belgium, I loved Gent and Antwerp, Brussels is ok. But if you must see Brugge (which I don’t think is as good as Ghent) don’t do more than a day. Rotterdam’s kunsthall was great if you’re into art too. Also check which days museums close coz I tend to be bad with that, but museums…[Read more]

also GO PASS to travel in Belgium is the best.

I appreciate the advice! I do know how to ride a bicycle. I’m planning on buying a rail pass to travel from country to country. It seems as though the GO PASS is a great deal in most larger cities where there are many sights to see. What is your favorite European city?
-
In Belgium? Ghent.
From the countries you’ve listed, probably Amsterdam, but I haven’t travelled too extensively.
