Hurray, I did the photos right!
This may sound crazy but I seriously felt this deck doesn’t like me at all!
1. 2 Wands – Reversed: This deck contemplates current situations vs the past?
2. 9 Pentacles: It’s gracious, abundant and makes the most of resources?
3. 8 Pentacles: My first gut reaction to this was that it was indifferent – facing away from me, doing it’s own thing. Then I was reading about the meaning of the card: “focused on work…” and I was like, oh! right! This deck has OCD!
4. Knight of Pentacles – Reversed: I should be less rational and take risks.
5. Page of Pentacles – Reversed: It’s telling me to read intuitively?
6. 8 Wands: “Successful resolution”? I got nothin’ from this one.
The 2 of Wands was really reversed, I messed it up and then took the photo.
This may just be me, but I feel like this deck is very self-confidant and maybe a little superior. To me, the last card could be bragging that using this deck will get you swift and good resolutions to your questions. Also the 8 of pentacles is not necessarily showing a weakness but maybe showing a strength veiled as a weakness. I could be totally off though. Also, I love the pictures and I’d love to see more of it!
I agree with the superior feeling. Interesting thought about the 8 of pentacles. I’m glad you liked the photos, I’ll post more. There are some really interesting cards in this deck but I was also slightly disappointed at the lack of (what seem to me to be) key elements in many of them. For example The Moon is a girl seated holding a lobster up by each claw. There is a green moon behind her. That’s it. I wish I could read what the artist had in mind for many of them.
The green moon seems like it should have some kind of special significance, but I’m not sure what, unless it’s just supposed to signify magic or an altered state of mind. I wonder if the girl could be representative of a moon goddess as well, because a lot of decks do that for this card. I’d love to see a picture!
Thanks for posting, these cards are beautiful!
Here’s what I got from the reading:
1. 2 Wands reversed – If you have hit a roadblock, this deck will help you see what you have overlooked. If the roadblock is because of a fear of the unknown, it will help you face it and use the power gained from the Ace of Wands to achieve whatever goals you have.
2. 9 Pentacles – Yeah, this deck is self confident, but not without merit. I think that is explained in card 3 (8 of pentacles). It’s well deserved confidence from diligent, thoughtful work. You could see it as indulgent (it pictures a super rich noble lady who does falconing in her free time), but I think it has more to do with a harmony with nature. 9 Pentacles harnesses the beauty of nature.
3. 8 of Pentacles – I thought maybe too focused on details? Too focused on planning and getting things right? Maybe this is deck for when you’re in the head down barrel through phase of a creative endevour?
4. Knight of Pentacles – Here is another card that calls you to get things “in order”, hmm not sure about this
5. Page of Pentacles reversed – Don’t approach these cards thinking you have to succeed or get the right answer. Again I feel like it’s referring to a creative process, like what you are trying to achieve is not going to be attainable through a routine, you have to get out of your comfort zone.
6. 8 of Wands – I think this is a GREAT card if it refers to “potential outcomes.” I look at it like, it’s preparing you to strike when the iron is hot. In the picture your see 8 wands flying through the air, angled down, almost as if they are about to strike their enemy. This card means there will a dramatic outcome.
In general, it seems like a deck for a creative project. It keeps referring to details, getting things in order and then striking when it’s the right time. There is a vague balance between getting ready for something and striking when the iron’s hot.
Wow! Thank you for posting! You gave me a lot to think about and there were some aha! moments. The Page of pentacles for example. I’m a very by the books person. When I want to learn about something I’ll read a zillion books about how to do it before I try it for the first time. That really makes sense. The author has some very interesting things to say in the booklet. The author says that eights can refer to going back to the basics. Not sure why that would be the case as a limitation since I’m already a beginner.
I thought I added that this ‘Tabi’ interview spread came from littleredtarot.com but I guess I didn’t. I posted it to the group board in a different post. Very sincere apologies for the omission!
