‘Tabi’ interview with Tarot of The Magical Forest

I felt really good about this deck right away! It felt like it had lots of energy and was really positive. I think it likes me! I was struck that both readings were all wands and pentacles.

    1. Knight of Wands: the pamphlet that came with the deck says “courageous and decisive action”. Intuitively that felt right. Also, that this is a creative and imaginative deck, ready to go.

    2. 2 Wands (this card also came up in the interview with Dreaming Way Tarot): Isn’t the meaning of this card not satisfied with what one has–contemplating what else there is? I couldn’t really come up with an interpretation for “what are your strengths as a deck?

    3. 7 Pentacles: Also kind of drawing a blank here as relates to “what are your limits as a deck?”

    4. 6 Pentacles: To me this said “I’m here to be supportive and a mentor who will help you weigh things and reflect”.

    5. 5 Pentacles: I took this to mean that I can receive emotional healing by accepting help to break down negative attitudes of self-worth (I’ve got plenty in that area).

    6. 4 Pentacles: I liked what the pamphlet said: “stability has been reached and your objective accomplished”.

I hope I do the photo links right.

    • Re: the two of wands appearing in both spreads, I think it’s confirming your gut feelings about which deck you click with right away. The two of wands can refer to early stages in some sort of creative or intuitive journey/project. So the reversed two in the Dreaming Way spread could mean, “maybe I’m not the best fit for where you are right now, but come back later,” whereas the upright two in the Magical Forest spread is saying, “hey, let’s create some stuff.” The positions of the card in each spread would go with that feeling as well.

      • Thanks Mary! Great interpretation. Dreaming Way is growing on me and I will use, but I suspect you are right. Also, epsilon said of Dreaming Way that it might be a deck for getting my nose to the grindstone with in creative projects. It all fits. I can tell I’m going to learn a lot here!

      • I agree. The Two of Wands is an amazing card – for me it often represents the swirling and settling in your head Just Before you are ready to make a decision. So with the Dreaming Way where it’s reversed it represents confusion and an inability to make your mind up just yet (though as you say, it could grow on you! It’s just not *happening* for you yet?) whereas here with the Magical Forest it’s more like ‘My feelings about this deck and where we might go together are starting to crystalise and I’m excited about taking this forward’. Or something like that!

Whenever I get the Two of Wands in a reading I immediately want to go and find the Three of Wands – the next step where you actually make yr decision and are ready to ACT :)

        • (*Apols for crazy unintentional italics!)

        • Thanks for your insight Beth! When I first did this spread I felt sort of shocked that I could see so little in the images. Even though I’m totally new, I felt there should be something there to relate to. Last night I read the authors booklet and looked through the deck some more. I feel like I’m getting this deck more now. It’s like the first time I tried to read Judith Butler. She’s amazingly brilliant but I had to read many sentences about three times before I could figure out what she was saying. I think this is a brilliant yet idiosyncratic deck. I absolutely love the watercolor art work!

          • I’m loving this idea that the Two of Wands represents the first steps with a new tarot deck, especially for someone new to tarot! That must be why the figures are holding the world in their hands – not yet 100% sure what they are gonna do with it, just feeling that power and letting ideas crystalise organically. And reversed it’s just a lack of confidence, or maybe ‘the wrong deck’ or something, totally natural for a beginner.

            Nice one!

    • This deck is SO CUTE! But also a little weird.

    • I thought I added that this ‘Tabi’ interview spread came from littleredtarot.com but I guess I didn’t. I posted it to the group board in a different post. Very sincere apologies for the omission!
