Autostraddle Summer Book Club 2011 12 years, 2 months agoI’m dragging my way through Revolutionary Road. It’s wonderfully written but terribly depressing and it’s so beautiful outside… #dilemmaeveryday

revolutionary road is incredibly depressing. beautifully written but kinda makes you want to jump off a cliff. definetly a winter time read so that the weather matches the mood of th book but since you have already started i’d say just finish it. its worth it. i kinda of think of it like lolita very wrong and not heartwarming but written so well…[Read more]

Maybe it’s a good idea to read it in the summer though? If I get too melancholic I can just step outside.

a friend described Revolutionary Road as “it took more than it gave”, and ever since I’ve been a bit apprehensive to read it…

Your friend is probably right, but I must say the book also inspires reflexion like few novels do.
