Welllll I don’t think Edmonton is so dead, I think I’ll just have to tell everyone why!
First, listen to GAYWIRE on our very own community radio station CJSR 88.5 FM on Thursdays from 6-7 and they play awesome music (picked by my good freiendy Diana) and they talk about queer issues and all the queer events going on in the city each week!

    • And then go to Buddy’s on Fridays and Flash on Saturdays, they are packed with queers, and there is an event called Beers for Queers (b4q) at the Empress the last Thursday of each month if you like to stay on the Whyte Ave side of the river. It has had a lineup to get in every time I’ve been there, even in the middle of winter.
Junction sometimes has queer events, I went to a drag show last Friday there, and I have some inside info that they might start hosting DYKE NIGHT so watch for that.
Edmonton Pride Centre is opening its new location April 3rd, across from Grant MacEwan!
If you go to Gmac their queer group is called Inqueeries, and at U of A the queer student group is OUTreach, which I am a part of and it is AWESOME. It is a very active group with meetings every week and parties and ski trips.
EXPOSURE festival is a queer arts and culture festival, it was rad last year, and is happening again in October. You can even volunteer for that.
Anyone have any other ideas of things going on in Edmonton??? I know there are lots. LET’S TALK

    • Oh, no way? That’s cool. :)
