Ok, so I’m currently doing Ethics A-level (final year of school) and unfortunately part of this involves sex and relationships. That involves looking at contraception, adultery, relationships in general and…homosexuality. I am currently prepping for an essay on this and I am struggling because I have to consider the possibility that…[Read more]

Maybe you don’t need to turn it off, but rather use it to your advantage? The better informed you are about the opposition’s point of view, the better you can rip it to shreds. Read up on it avidly and critically and it’ll make you that much stronger of an advocate for yourself. That said, I do recognize that panicked, hyperventilating kind of…[Read more]

I totally dig maddieO’s approach. :) If you need more help, let us know!

Thanks that really helped :). I got the essay done, though it wrecked my whole day at school, but I got a B (my target grade) and the teacher said “it reads like a rant…very fun to mark!”
That’s because it was a rant. -__-

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months ago(I’m not sure if replies are working so this is in reply to Lis) I must be one of the few people that really disliked the Van Gogh episode. It might actually be my least favorite episode. I will admit it might has something to do with the fact that it took me a long time to warm up to Matt Smith.

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoI think until the next episode is too long. People should just avoid this group until they’re up to date. Seriously, I think The Doctor’s Wife was one of my favourite (although SO scary) episodes yet – at least of the eleventh doctor… although the Van Gogh one was also fabulous.
-
I didn’t think it was that scary. The only part that was a little creepy was with Rory and Amy in the TARDIS and Amy walked into the Ood and he was chasing them. And I absolutely LOVED the TARDIS in human form lol
-
I’m sorry lis, i accidentally deleted your reply too. gorram buttons! sorry!

Yeah, it was a bit creepy for me. I’m glad Neil Gaiman was the one who wrote this episode since it touches on things that could really have had the fans in an uproar (or at least a bit miffed) if done wrong.

since so many are still catching up, and a huge percentage probably DVR eps, I think it’s fair to delay posting specific spoilers a bit. I don’t think that precludes discussing (or flailing over) an episode.

To all question bi-dar and gaydar related.
I generally tend to flirt or what’s wrong with a straight up asking someone? Just go for someone you think is hot, you have nothing to lose esp if they are giving you the signals.-
Except sometimes they’ll flirt with you for an hour and then mention their girlfriend. It’s annoying and awkward, but nobody ever died of awkward. :D
-
I’m just super lucky and end up hitting on girls in front of their girlfriends like 90% of the time. I’ve even given a girl a rose in front of her girlfriend :P
-
Once, I went to a lesbian dance night for a friend of a friend’s birthday. I had a little bouquet of flowers from my garden as a gift for the birthday girl, and a super-hot chick asks me for one. Thinking she was flirting, I handed off a sprig. Then she told me she was straight….
….and then she asked her friends if they’d seen a girl named…[Read more]

I have def wanted to, though ;)
I guess you have to be comfortable outing yourself to someone who might be straight and be uncomfortable with lady love or being hit on by another woman. I live in a smaller city where it’s very difficult to do stuff like that without it becoming common gossip amongst my ‘circles’, maybe it’d be easier for people…[Read more]

Help, I am bad at dating girls.
I’m crushing on a girl who I know slightly (she’s a first year, and I am an officer in the upperclass house that is supposed to help them have fun–obviously college students need help with that) and I’ve hung out with her a bit and at our formal she got ditched by her friends and I got her to dance with my group…[Read more]-
I personally think the more pertinent question is: if she were to return your affections and you Autostraddled in some form, would you get in trouble? If the answer is yes, wait. If the answer is no, proceed with caution. Either way, you could at least try to get to know her a little better? Maybe you’ll end up really clicking and get gay married…[Read more]

I think when we suspect that someone likes us back, we’re usually right, it’s just harder to see when you’re involved. But either way I agree get to know her better. Add her on fb and chat or just ask her to coffee, in a super friendly way, get to know the vibes. But also I agree with @kdizzle about the considering the consequences.

also bi-dar question: go see my answer to the person asking about gaydar. i dont go for overly stereotypical girls, and there are just as many bisexual girls who look like “lesbians”, so yeah, its tricky.

Question I have for everyone: How does BI-DAR work? I’m bi and apparently all my friends, at least the queer ones, knew it before I did. I get gay-dar since it often has to do with stereotypes (effeminate dudes, girls with alternative lifestyle haircuts) but what are those signs for bis? The only stereotype I know of for bi girls is the…[Read more]

Okay, it won’t let me reply, but in response to the last post: You’re not overreacting, you’re totally right to be offended by people calling you that. But I don’t think you should kill him. A lot of people don’t realize that using words like “dyke” and “fag” in an affectionate, non-offensive way is mostly exclusive to members of the team, and…[Read more]

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoDoes anyone else here like the audio adventures? I haven’t gotten to listen to a lot of them just yet, but I quite like them. More adventures are never a bad thing! Plus, it was an opportunity for the Eighth Doctor to actually be the Doctor. And “Night Thoughts” was creepy as hell!
Anyway, there’s a new audio adventure on BBC Radio 4 Plus with…[Read more] -
