Ohio is for AutoStraddlers 12 years, 4 months agois anyone interested in starting a book club and / or film club in the cleveland area? would also like to plan a meet-up for sometime in july…
-
I definitely am – I’ve actually been on the lookout for a book group for a while.
-
awesome. hopefully we can garner a bit more interest, and then decide where we want to take the idea. i was thinking a monthly or every other monthly meet-up with rotating book selection.
-
I would definitely be up for a book club.
I also would be up for a meetup in July, though it would need to be the next week for me to attend. Any ideas about what to do/where to meet?
-
-
-
well, we’re up to three members. is that enough to start a club?
as for the meetup- i’m down for whatever. we could grab drinks somewhere in ohio city or tremont. or coffee?
-
I think three is definitely enough to start a club. Why not?
I’d be up for drinks or coffee in Ohio City or Tremont. I see you are looking to make something happen next week. I’ll be going out of town on Wednesday and have plans on Tuesday but I’m free Monday. I know that would be short notice…-
eh- we can always wait a week.

Ohio is for AutoStraddlers 12 years, 4 months agoYou guys, Cedar Point is so gay. Does anyone want to do a meetup there?
Also, I live in Sandusky and am biased. I hear Kings Island is also a thing, maybe?
-
Okay, I don’t even live in Ohio (if it helps, I was born to an Ohioan) but a Cedar Point meetup needs to be done. It just does. Rainbows and roller coasters forever. But I dunno when I’ll be heading up there, probably around the end of the month.
Also: how do you spell Ohioan -
I’d be down for a Cedar Point meetup. But I’m also biased because I’m from the same area sooo…there’s that.
-
much like sarah palin and alaska, i can see kings island fro my house. in fact, they’re doing fireworks right now.
-
sweet!
-
-
Ok, so if we want this to be a thing, we have to pick. It doesn’t matter to me; someone just pick something that works. I’m thinking a weekday in early August.
-
works for me. that would be enough time for people to plan, right?

Helloooo all! I’m not exactly new to Autostraddle, but I finally signed up (took me long enough). Anyone here from around the Bay Area, specifically the south peninsula? I’m mostly just looking for people to talk to and whatnot. I figured this might be a good place to start? :)

Femme Straddlers 12 years, 4 months agoHelp – I went to the hair cuttery for a trim and she chopped off five inches of my hair! I now have this mullet-thing going on, and not a sexy hipster mullet, a curly frizzy disaster mullet.
Help me fancy femmes – what do I do with this mop? Should I go to another salon and try to get the cut fixed? Or just wear a hat for six months? ha I nee…[Read more]
-
Haha just get it cut again if you can afford it. Disaster mullets are not where it’s at. Go some where fancy, with a battle plan. I’ve only gotten one haircut in my life that I would consider successful and it came at a great expense and there was definitely lots of research involved, so I know how the disaster mullet feels and it’s no good. Good luck!
-
In theory, you should be able to get it fixed for free by the gal who butchered it in the first place. But I would probably just go somewhere else to see if the cut could be salvaged. Walk into a new salon and have the cosmetologist with the curliest hair go to work on you, that was my strategy until I found a regular stylist.
-
Yeah I’d recommend getting it recut or if there’s enough just having it tied up until it’s long enough to be cut again. But good luck to you!
-
If you can’t afford to get the cut fixed, can it be straightened into a sexy hipster mullet?
But if you can’t afford to get it recut by someone else, you are definitely entitled to go back in there and ask for her to fix it!

anyone here in Michigan (specifically southwest Michigan)? our GSA is trying to organize some queer summer picnic/possibly beach fun and we can always use more cool queer kids.

Let’s all have a sing along. Someone pick their favourite (hopefully wellishly-known) happy song and we can just sing out problems away.
-
Yes. But more off-key and Disney themed.

The seaweed is always greener in somebody else’s lake. You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake! Just look at the world around you, right here on the ocean floor! Such wonderful things surround you, what more are you looking for? :D

Under the sea
(Under the sea)
Darling it’s better
Down where it’s wetter
Take it from me
Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away
While we devotin’
Full time to floatin’
Under the sea! -
By the way, @Kierious, you have a rather fantastic taste in music/books. I don’t think I know a single person who’s even heard of the Dresden Dolls.
-
You’re kidding! I used to listen to them all the time.
-
Unfortunately not, nobody here knows of them. I saw Amanda Palmer live a while back, and had nobody to rave to about it because no one knew who she was.
-
hi i saw this and had to reply. I LOVE AMANDA PALMER. i literally just got a book of her sheet music for christmas and spent most of last evening trying to learn blake says on the piano.
