TravelStraddle 11 years, 9 months agoSo I’m from CA, but I’ll be interning in DC this summer. Planning for a trip up to NY, New England and Quebec prior to that.
Any advice?
btw, if anyone is going to Montreal there’s a “lesbian bike shop” called Bikurious, and they’ll fix your bike or give you an alternative haircut. sweet.

TravelStraddle 11 years, 9 months agoI’m going to be backpacking through Europe for a couple of months in 2013. For those of you who have traveled throughout Europe, what kind of advice can you provide? Flying in and out of Germany, traveling to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy and Austria.

where is your flight going?in which city are you gonna start your trip? when is your trip?summer?winter?…I’m a german who has lived in sweden and is living in austria….and I#ve seen ALL THE PLACES…well no,thats not really true but I do like to travel and would like to share my wisdom

my advice to learn to ride a bike prior if you don’t know how. In Belgium, I loved Gent and Antwerp, Brussels is ok. But if you must see Brugge (which I don’t think is as good as Ghent) don’t do more than a day. Rotterdam’s kunsthall was great if you’re into art too. Also check which days museums close coz I tend to be bad with that, but museums…[Read more]

also GO PASS to travel in Belgium is the best.

I appreciate the advice! I do know how to ride a bicycle. I’m planning on buying a rail pass to travel from country to country. It seems as though the GO PASS is a great deal in most larger cities where there are many sights to see. What is your favorite European city?

In Belgium? Ghent.
From the countries you’ve listed, probably Amsterdam, but I haven’t travelled too extensively.

So I’m completely new and desperately in need of some advice… where on earth do you meet fellow femmes, and how on earth do you know they’re actually gay ?! Is there a secret handshake or something I’m missing ?
-
You have to ask. Just think – maybe that hot girl over there is actually gay and too shy to approach you. Maybe she’s afraid you’re not gay.
The only thing you have to fear is maybe an awkward laugh – in my experience most straight women have been flattered by my attentions and very kind in rejecting me.
Wear a rainbow bracelet or something. It’s…[Read more] -
in gay bars or parties? I assume everyone there is gay even though women will always ask me if I’m straight, it’s annoying but I suppose it solves things for them, I say look for eye contact and short fingernails.

Sounds strange but talk to, flirt, and hit on all ladies (young and old) to practice. I practice with ladies working at malls, grocery stores, etc. Brings a smile to their monotonous day and it’s good practice for confidence building. Then when you meet a girl who likes girls, you will be less nervous. A non offending flattering line might be……[Read more]
