Hi Canadians. I’m a Kiwi with Canadian Citizenship. I hope to move there end of this year. So, I hope this isn’t an annoying/repeated question but could anyone tell me if there is a big difference in job opportunities etc between Vancouver and Toronto? Originally I wanted to move to Montreal but that’s impossible to find work in if you are not bilingual, right? I saw Toronto has pretty good funding for the arts? I’m really like to move somewhere with a great theatre scene and also a great queer scene full of hot girls who think my accent is cute. Please advise. Thanks!

    • (…and please look kindly upon my typos!)

    • I guess it really depends on what your looking for, as far as I know there probably isn’t that much of a difference. If you just want to do food service/coffee shop type deal you should be fine, because THAT ACCENT OMG.
Toronto is a lot more urban/hard core but it is the place for theatre for sure. Although vancouver has a pretty thriving theatre scene as well as a film industry.
      GAH
you picked like two best cities in canada to go too.
Although if you were interested in montreal there are tons and tons or people who don’t speak french there, you just have to be in the english speaking part of the city. Its a beautiful place as well.

Sorry this was probably really affirming but not helpful. Have a good time while your here! Abuse the heck out of that accent! I’m headed down to australia right away so I really hope they think my accent is cute ;)

      • Thanks for the reply, affirmation is also gratefully recieved. Perhaps I’ll just flit gayly from one city to the other and find out for myself. Montreal is winning atm just because of proximity to friends in NY. And NY. Have fun in Oz! I’ll be there soon, too! (Melbourne :) ). I’m sure you and your accent will have a wonderful time!
