Also Working On It 8 years, 4 months agoHave you guys ever heard of “The Plank Challenge?” You do “The Plank” every day for a month, gradually increasing the time you hold it.
There are a ton of free, simple apps which count down the time alloted for each day and I strongly recommend this!

@amidola There are days when all the exercise I do is a couple minutes of planking, and this inspires me to get a little more consistent and thoughtful about it. Thanks for the tip!

I’ve just started a 30 day ab challenge that includes planking! I’ll be sharing lots of feelings about the app in an upcoming post but so far I’m really enjoying it. I can only plank for 30 seconds but that number has been slowly increasing, which is nice.

Have you tried different instructors at your gym (do you have that option)? Group classes at my gym are all included in the membership, which is great, but I definitely find that some instructors are better than others and I prefer the ones who are less crazy fitness-y.
You could also look into cheap or free social dance opportunities in your city…[Read more]-

Why don’t you find a Cardio thing that works for you? Godzilla couldn’t make me do the Elliptical, and I just don’t have the concentration and coordination for the treadmill. Also that whole running and puking my lungs out thing? Not for me.
What really works for me is rowing. I put on a playlist according to mood and then I use its rhythm.

I second the erg! although it can be pretty intense. defs bring a good playlist.
also does your gym have a track? if you’re okay with running but hate the treadmill (me) actually physically covering distance can make it feel more real!

The FMS assesses balance, strength and flexibility of 7 basic types of movements in order to identify instability or lack of mobility, and corrective exercises to fix them.

Also Working On It 8 years, 4 months agoWant to have an AS fitness group on Strava? We can cheer each other on, have virtual events together (like a 1k fun-run/walk or whatever we like!) It’s a an app /website you can upload routes and get mileage/elevation for running/biking/swimming, stuff like that.

I don’t currently do any outdoor fitness and so this doesn’t seem relevant for me right now (?) HOWEVER if a few of you wanna go ahead and start an AS group then I’ll put it the details in an upcoming post and encourage people to join y’all.

It’s for all type of stuff; doesn’t have to be outdoors or even a distance-related thing, though it does support mileage and route tracking if you want it. You can add like yoga or weight lifting or wtv on it.
