Does anyone know any good LGBT documentaries? I’ve seen Before and After Stonewall, the celluloid Closet, The life and times of Harvey Milk and Paragraph 175. I learned so much and I would love to learn more, so any documentaries would be helpful.

    • “For The Bible Tells Me So” and “One Nation Under God” are both very good LGBTQ religious centered docs.

“Small Town Gay Bar” is a pretty entertaining doc on…well…small town gay bars lol.

“How To Survive A Plague” and “We Were Here” are both good docs centered about the gay community during the AIDS epidemic.

“Bridegroom” and “Edie and Thea: A Very Long Engagement” are heartbreaking but beautiful.

      Hope these help!

      • Myah, thank you so much for listing such a wide variety of gay documentaries! This helps a ton. :) Thank you again.

    • Strongly seconding many of Myah’s recc’s (For the Bible, HTSAPlague, We Were Here) and throwing in an older classic (available on iTunes): Paris is Burning, a doc on the ball culture in 80s NYC. It’s a classic (and was directed by a lesbian).
