This morning at work, I came out to the two girls I nanny. The parents already knew but I went to great effort to hide it from them thinking perhaps they were to young to understand/it’s the work place, etc. But my boss told me they’d never said anything about it and they wouldn’t care anyway.
So we were talking about giving and getting flowers…[Read more]

You guys, I’ve had a girlfriend for a week (well, officially/exclusively… but we’ve been dating for almost a year) and I’m scared because tomorrow is the date I have set to come out to my mom. Quite a few of my friends know, and my little brother knows. He says that our mom suspects it, so I’m thinking I shouldn’t be as worried (?). But I’m…[Read more]

You set a date? Better than me. I decided when people were worthy, fretted about it at every opportunity (read: whenever I was with that person) and eventually kind of blurted it out after “I have something to tell you” was used as the generic opening line.
I think you should just work up your confidence beforehand and go for it. Assuming you…[Read more]

So, I lied and totally chickened out on the date I had set. Did that on the next day and the next day and the next day too. Last night, I realized that the only way I would be able to get it out is if I told her I had something to say. Felt a little discouraged when she said “Don’t tell me tonight… wait until tomorrow.” But today we had the…[Read more]

I think the necessity of coming out to people was something I mentally created/adhered to. I say this because literally EVERYONE knew already. I told my mom and got an “I know.” I told my friends, and from EVERY ONE OF THEM, I got an “I know.” I told my teacher-mentor guy, and he said “I know.” I told the family I live with now rather than my…[Read more]

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoI don’t know why, but River’s true identity sort of pisses me off. I might have to watch that episode again.
-
It’s going to take a re-watching or two and some time, I’m not super thrilled with River’s true identity either but I think I’ll eventually adjust.
-
Yeah … it was the least surprising revelation ever. I mean, some of the Doctor Who blogs were joking about it from the beginning of the season. It just seemed too out there to take seriously … and behold! It’s actually true.
-
I’m just really hoping that the Doctor doesn’t spend too much time with her when she’s a young girl, I like their relationship so far but that might be a little too much for me.
-
I almost think that I preferred River when she was a mystery, this seems a little too last minute and mundane for the kind of hype that they’ve had with her.
I don’t know really, I think I need to rewatch the episode a couple times and then decide how I feel about it.
-
I think this whole Who Is River Song?!? thing has been built up and strung out for so long that any revelation as to her identity, no matter what it is, would seem like kind of a let down. I do like how it answered the question of how she knew the Doctor’s real name (she read it on his cradle!) in an unexpected way.

Doctor Whovians 12 years, 4 months agoOH MY GOD I REALLY WANT TO FLAIL ABOUT SOME NEW CHARACTERS IN EP 7. people who’ve watched it know who i’m talking about. i’d like to autostraddle some of that. oh man, can they have their own spin-off show?
-
Yeah wow I thought I was just being crazy and wanted it too much but eventually there was no way they weren’t. They could easily make a show about them, considering the one person’s profession. (Ahh talking in vague terms.)
Thank you Steven Moffat!
-
YES! They were so awesome! And Victorian! And interspecies! Far too perfect characters for some fun adventures to not have them turn up again
-
Just imagine the fan fiction possibilities.
-
Yes…there was that….and also a certain someone in uniform I’m hoping we’ll have a flash-fo/back to next seasonette…..
-
“Why do I put up with you?” *tongue*
They need their own show like, yesterday.
-
Completely. The shout out to the gay married Anglican marines was good, but lizard lady and friend were amazing. Fanfiction should take this up, or the BBC, but I doubt they will.
-
So freaking awesome, I want a series following them.

This looks like a cool art/feminism related film by Lynn Hershman Leeson: http://movies.nytimes.com/2011/06/01/movies/women-art-revolution-by-lynn-hershman-leeson-review.html?scp=1&sq=guerilla%20girls&st=cse

I “came out” (by which I mean the final installment of my three-stage-coming-out) not that long ago, maybe a month – yeah about a month ago. I’d already told some friends, and my parents (whom didn’t react too well, but seem to be coming around) it was at my Sixth-Form Summer-Ball, and I had had a small amount of alcohol – the amount where…[Read more]
