Also Working On It 8 years, 1 month agoAnybody in here Working On It in the face of disability/chronic illness? I used to be really active and athletic but have let my fitness and strength slide a lot because of recurring neurological weakness, never mind that in between recurrences getting stronger would be a huge help… lots of struggle with recognizing the difference between…[Read more]

Yes! I had pretty bad chronic fatigue for about a year and a half until very recently when I completely changed my diet in a fit of desperation. I’m trying to make the effort to get fit along with my new healthy eating habits now I have more energy but I find it really hard to distinguish between ‘good tired’ and ‘bad tired’. I’m trying a ‘trust…[Read more]

100% with you on erring on the side of self-care, and I definitely am better friends w my body when I am helping it get stronger. My trouble is this stuff comes around regularly, once a month (I get treatment once a month, and everything starts falling apart right before treatment time), so I keep plunging into the same bad feelings.

That’s a great point about accepting different levels of ability at different times. I just tend to get frustrated when I can’t do as much one day as I could on another so that’s something for me to work on!

Also Working On It 8 years, 1 month agoI know lots of people are doing the 30 day abs challenge. I like the sound of having a challenge for a set time period so it’s not so scary and you can actually finish it but I’m a weakling – has anyone tried anything a bit more wimpy?
-
In a couple of weeks I’ll be starting a 30 Day Yoga Challenge, which may or may not be less difficult that the ab challenge? I don’t know how hard it will be. I’ll announce when I’m starting it if you want to join in, or if you want to check it out independently then search ‘Adriene 30 day yoga challenge’ on youtube.
-
i’m not sure if by “wimpy” you mean easier than doing 100 sit ups or shorter than 30 days, but i know there are a few 7 day challenges out there, and if you finish and like it, all you have to do is set yourself a goal of another 7 days, which seems pretty great to me.
