I really like dixon hairshop. dicksonhairshop.com/ ‘clean ups’ are free for short hair which is pretty excellent and 40 bucks isn’t that steep if you factor in you can get 2 free ‘clean ups’ with that.

I last had my hair chopped off a few months ago at Le Petit Chandelier in Brooklyn. Best haircutting experience of my life! She can totally make you a gaybot too, she made me shaggy and layered and accomplished something akin to a Joan Jett/David Bowie look.

I recently went to Crops for Girls (they specialize in short haircuts for women) in the East Village (they have a student discount but regular haircuts are around $40 I think) and was very happy with it. The guy is chill and won’t talk your ear off like some hairstylists…
