Any fellow queerios slogging through medical school like me? (I’m in the middle of my 2nd year) if so message me!

    • I’m finishing up my first year of optometry school.

      • That’s cool; how many years do you have to go? Do you just do a lot of eye exams and neuro?

        • Three more after this year. We also do a ton of optics, a lot of neuro and ocular anatomy, and a little general anatomy. And then a lot of learning how to actually do an eye exam.

How about you? Med school going well? Any specialty picked out yet?

          • minimum of 5 years after this (oy). I LOVE NEURO TO THE MAX. by far my favorite subject. we don’t choose our specialties until after clinical rotations (1 year from now)…but leaning towards neuro, obygyn, or internal med.

    • hey :) i’m in med school–almost finished with my third year, thank GOD.

      • Cool! Where do you go to school? I can’t wait to be done with my second year and actually start clinicals. How’s it going so far?

        • I go to school on the east coast (PM me if you want more specifics. I’m happy to give them, just not on a public forum.) And so far, so good. The first two years are a pain, so once you’re finished with them (and Step 1), then you’re golden. Third year’s been really great, actually. It’s nice to actually see patients. Of course, I still have…[Read more]

          • congrats! -from a resident in the mid-south, trust me it’s all golden after third year.

            • thank you! i’m really excited for residency and i can’t even be deterred by the fact that i’ll need to get through my intern year first :D mind if i ask what field you chose? i’ve decided on pediatrics, myself.

              • Emergency Medicine.

You’ll get through intern year, just like you got through first year: one day at a time.
