I’m finishing up my first year of optometry school.
That’s cool; how many years do you have to go? Do you just do a lot of eye exams and neuro?
Three more after this year. We also do a ton of optics, a lot of neuro and ocular anatomy, and a little general anatomy. And then a lot of learning how to actually do an eye exam.
How about you? Med school going well? Any specialty picked out yet?
minimum of 5 years after this (oy). I LOVE NEURO TO THE MAX. by far my favorite subject. we don’t choose our specialties until after clinical rotations (1 year from now)…but leaning towards neuro, obygyn, or internal med.

So, I’m an MD between residencies. First one was in Family Practice and the next one in 2013 will be Preventive Medicine. And because I’m a glutton for grad school punishment, it has an MPH embedded in it….*sigh*

I go to school on the east coast (PM me if you want more specifics. I’m happy to give them, just not on a public forum.) And so far, so good. thank you! i’m really excited for residency and i can’t even be deterred by the fact that i’ll need to get through my intern year first :D mind if i ask what field you chose? i’ve decided on pediatrics, myself.
