This is going to sound really lame, but my student are in default. Oops. Lost my job, bad economy, blah blah blah. But, now I got into grad school and they won’t lend me more money unless I settle. Does anyone know how the hell to do that with out a job?

starting SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont next fall for Conflict Resolution. Doing the Peace Corps thing first. I just keep postponing that whole career thing. Maybe when I’m 30…..

I need motivation.
-
To finish grad school? Just look at the job market- try to put off joining the real world for as long as humanly possible.
-
Umm….thanks? ;) I’m actually in optometry school (which isn’t technically grad school, but I figured close enough), so I definitely have about 3 1/2 years to go. Currently I’m needing motivation to study for this anatomy test. What are you in school for?
-
I’m in for Public Administration. I decided that I might want a career one day after spending four years studying liberal arts. Sadly, I have rediscovered that I love random, useless knowledge much more than the practical sort.

always in need of motivation. It’s rough.

Dearest Chicagostraddlers,
Anyone know of any events/groups in the area they’d recommend to someone who’s looking for more gay friends?
Sincerely,
Boob Noob-

We plan and use events more over here^

Totally awesome group…..last year of grad school for me (engineering field) BUT I’m thinking of continuing the fun….can you say PhD? Attending ASU…. in the beautiful city of Tempe but not so great state of AZ (politically speaking).
-
I’ve been thinking about ASU for PhD. Would you recommend their grad school?
-
My program is relatively small (construction engineering mgmt) and I’ve enjoyed my experiences… I’m sure every program is different. Campus life is pretty cool but at the grad level that lots of time is spent on individual research/study. Oh, and the weather is great after mid September. What program are you interested in?
-
-
That sounds promising. I’ve been looking at the School of Evolution and Social Change for biological anthropology.

3 weeks away from finishing my first year of grad school, it’s been traumatic to say the least.

Have you talked to financial aid? I think there should be a way to renegotiate them or something.
can you talk to the coordinator of your grad program? you may be able to get fee or tuition remission for working as a TA or grader.
