Hey all, I’m amazed this group exists (but maybe not so much as my first lady crush was on another lesbian fencer)! What weapons do ppl fence?

ps the headline is right sabre ftw! (I’m from Australia this is how we spell it), I think I’m going to have to switch to epee soon however…

    • I’m a total newb but I want to eventually fence saber… my club makes us do a year of foil first, though, and of course I enjoy it.

    • I also fence saber. Sorry that you have to switch to epee. That’s the worst.

    1. I’ve recently started watching Elfen Lied and love it. I’m half way through any other fans?

    2. Moving overseas cannot continue to get it from the video store… ideas? solutions?

    • 1.) I’ve only seen a little of Elfen Lied and I really liked it, even though it go sort of emotionally crushing at the end.
2.) Look into any sort of online or mail movie-delivery service options. Netflix has a decent amount of anime on their instant thing and for the mail.(although the instant stuff is all dubbed) and they’re talking about…[Read more]

This morning at work, I came out to the two girls I nanny. The parents already knew but I went to great effort to hide it from them thinking perhaps they were to young to understand/it’s the work place, etc. But my boss told me they’d never said anything about it and they wouldn’t care anyway.

So we were talking about giving and getting flowers…[Read more]

    • that’s hilarious. :) it’s awesome that the kids were cool (and kinda funny that now one probably thinks you stalk people).

Hi Femmes. Question, who is your still icon? Lesbian or otherwise?
Coz I would have to say mine are definitely Santana (glee) and the twins from Skins!
I think they all dress amazingly! So proud to have the femme lesbian representing in the media!

    • Really interesting question! I suppose I have never thought about specific ‘femme’ icons… more queer icons on the one hand, and feminine icons on the other… like I admire Rachel Maddow, but if I could dress like anyone, I would dress like Dita von Teese (who I note was seriously involved with a woman in her twenties!).

      Now that you mention…[Read more]

    • Probably Fit for a Femme (I don’t know her name, do people just refer to her as FFAF?)
Totally cured me of my femme angst. Plus, she introduced me to the top knot, which means that I know longer have to wash my super curly hair tangly everyday to look presentable. Awesome.
But really, she seems so confident in who she is, and every time I read a…[Read more]

    • My icon is the Hogwarts Express cause I suck at cropping.

Serious answer: Shar Rednour, my friend Megan, Felicia Luna Lemus, a whole stack of Tumblr celebriqueer femme bloggers

    • The first person that comes to mind is Amber Heard. It started when I saw pictures of her in that red dress at the GLAAD awards where she officially came out. I love a vintage-inspired outfit.

    • I can’t say I have any celeb/visible femme icons that inspire me, though I’m glad to see femmes represented in the media. I do however sort of look up to my adoptive gay aunts Jackie and Deb who have been rocking their femme sides for decades and look hot even in their 50s.

    • My icon Lez or otherwize is the character: Anaksunamun in ”The Mummy”, remember the opening scene? She lets everyone know how desireable she is and only just a select few may get a chance to be with her. No one else can compare…

  • Hey all,
I’m passing through London in June 15-18 on holiday. I’m 20 from Sydney Australia and I was hoping to go out clubbing during this time. So I was hoping if I could get some advice/possibly make some friends…

I’m hoping to maybe move to London in 2012 so I really wanted to check out the scene whilst I’m there. I’m thinking of going out…[Read more]

    • Hey Cindy!

Afraid I’m not living in London at the moment, but lived there for 20 years so have plenty of advice :) Check out http://boards.gingerbeer.co.uk/ for what’s going on, there are plenty of meet ups and events which you could go to. G-A-Y and Candy Bar are both in SOHO right in the centre of London (and about a 5 minute walk from each…[Read more]

      • thanks so much! I’m going to be on my own it looks like but I think I might check out Candy Bar. Ta.xx

        • Hi! I totally forgot but I friended you as I should be around then to go out one night if you like. I’m 19 and relatively new to London, so still looking for more queer friends to go out with :) Not very knowledgeable about places as I’ve only ever been to Ku, G-A-Y and The Den, so perhaps I could check out Candy Bar with you? From all I’ve heard…[Read more]

      • BEST advice given above is to go East! To me it’s much more chilled an atmosphere, and it feels more like real London.
In Soho though, Ku bar gets my vote.

        • I seem to hear this a lot, but where do you actually advise to go to? From what I can tell on the internet Ghetto seems to be closed and Dick and Fanny doesn’t happen very often .. and I can’t figure out if Trash Palace is the same as Ghetto. All the websites seem to be very out of date

          • there’s twat boutique and unskinny bop which you definitely need to check out. i’d also advise just going on a general bar crawl, basically it’ quite difficult to go wrong :)

  • Just finished Sing Me Home by Jodi Picoult. It was…..cheesy.

    • Really?!? I heard so many good reviews abt it.. Haven’t got myself to actually read it though :P

  • Hey all, I’m an outgoing femme 20yo from Sydney, Australia. Who likes sport, exercise, shopping and dancing.
