io9.com isn’t per say a writer’s sci-fi site but it’s great for inspiration. They have a monthly book club, cover comics, Sci-fi shows, movies and art as well as the actual scientific communities.

I didn’t completely love it, but I got a lot out of Poisonwood Bible. If you haven’t read earlier Kingsolver, The Bean Trees is lovely.

Really?!? I heard so many good reviews abt it.. Haven’t got myself to actually read it though :P
