Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 5 months agoI don’t feel ostracized, but I’m glad to meet more atheists on this site. It seems like a lot of lesbians are insufferably evangelical if you happen to get on the subject. I’m kind of a hippie though, I eat stuff like tabouleh and quinoa and I smoke a lot of weed and wear tie-dye sometimes. I hope that’s ok, I like geeky stuff like Fringe and…[Read more]

I love quinoa and tabouleh too! And things like tofu chili. I’m just also into bacon and pancakes. How do you have your quinoa? I just discovered it a few weeks ago, I’ve been thinking about learning to cook it.
-
The way I like it is cooked in chicken or mushroom stock. You can eat it hot with some pepper or cayenne or have it as a cold salad with veggies in it. I like it with red and yellow peppers, cucumber, and maybe olives. It would probably be good with curry but I’m really, really allergic to curry so I haven’t tried it. It goes very well with spice though
-
That’s a good idea. I was also thinking as a bed for something tomato-based and Mediterranean-y. With tzatziki on the side. Mmm, tzatziki.

I haven’t been able to figure out quinoa is yet, let alone how you actually use it
-
quinoa is a grain, you can eat it like rice or make it into bread and pastry. it’s good, it tastes a bit nutty
-
Oh and it’s pronounced KEEN-wa

Quinoa is delicious, as is tabbouleh, falafel, tofu, etc. I eat ALL foods. Quinoa is a great sub for rice or couscous in any recipe

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 5 months agoI fit most criteria listed. Find a lot of “angry angry Atheist” rhetoric annoying as hell, though. Also, wtf are power bands?

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 5 months agoI hate vegetarian hippies. I also love Monty Python :)

and I love Scooby-Doo, your avatar is great
-
Thanks all my pets are named after Scooby-Doo characters. I have seen every episode. I don’t like the new Scooby-Doo though. I tried to watch it and had to turn the tv off. My theory is don’t mess with a good thing.

Amen to that! My first car was a Dodge Dart that I painted Scooby Doo on. I called it the Scoobymobile, my friends called it the Shaggy Wagon
-
That’s awesome!!! When i lived in Hawaii there was a guy that painted his van exactly like the Mystery Machine. I had a dodge Dart too.

Omnivorous Atheist/Skeptic queer geeks 12 years, 5 months agoDoes it count if I only eat poultry and fish? I fit the rest of these categories, and it breaks my heart every time a cute girl really wants to know my rising sign or whatever.
-
Whats a “rising sign”? I hope I don’t sound to stupid asking this.
-
Haha, I have no idea! I know it’s an astrology thing, but I don’t have any clue what it’s supposed to actually signify.
-
Poultry and fish are still animals, right? It’s not so much carnivores, but omnivores that I appreciate
-
Yes, they are most certainly still animals! I just know some hardcore meat eaters (people who won’t eat a meal if there’s no meat in it) who think that I’m ridiculous for only eating those. Anyway, this group is clearly going to be the most awesome group on Autostraddle, and I’m psyched about it!
