When we first saw Lizzie Spaceship’s work, we immediately felt it was relevant to your interests.

Take a deep breath. Clear your thoughts. Imagine your success. These pieces are images of your future. Please tell me what you see in them. Be as specific as possible.

Silver Spring based artist Lizzie Spaceship AKA ARTbyLIZ has been working as an independent artist for nearly seven years. She has sold over 100 original pieces without formal gallery representation. Lizzie’s goal in her art and her life is to express her voice through the medium of painting that she has been led to, in hopes that sharing her gifts with another, will inspire them to find and express their own.

  1. i am the creator of these images, and yes the first one is based on a zanele muholi photo w permission from the artist :-) (c) Zanele Muholi/ Stevenson gallery, 2007. I am currently creating this series of paintings showing women loving women. We are fundraising right now on kickstarter. If this work speaks to you, please visit our page

Consider sharing the link, and donating to the cause…. And when you give, you get- theres rewards for all giving levels. :-)

  2. What i see is the clashing of the colors black and white. think coming from the point to our democracy as a nation. There are two intimate women. Black and the white out of the racial context representing the movement from the darker times when certain people were shund for their sexual preference. Moving into the lighter side of things, to love and acceptance, self love and appreciation. Most of the pictures uzz with passion but has that soft cut to it as well.
