It’s Thursday morning, bright and early! Right now I’m in a car somewhere between Phoenix and L.A., on my way to my sisterwife’s house! Her name is Riese and she has a very kind dog named Carol. Tomorrow’s June can you hardly believe it??

*sings the pepper ann theme song in my head for the rest of the day*
CAME HERE TO SAY THE SAME
PEPPER ANN!!!
Britni de la Cretaz is a DREAM and all the research she did for that article on the LGBTQ+ ball players back in the 40s and 50s is just bonkers good, everyone should read it, probably with a box of Kleenex!
I definitely had a small cry while reading
Pepper Anne, Pepper Anne, much too cool for seventh grade, Pepper Anne, SHES LIKE ONE IN A MILLION…
(Also if you haven’t read that piece about Anna Delvey yet… whew! Buckle in! It’s the greatest, wildest ride!)
I wanted to say something else about Puerto Rico and Trump, but it hurt too much. So, back to Pepper Annnnnnne!
That Anna Delvey story seems like it would make a great movie. It also seems like a lot of the people she fooled kind of deserved it
Thank you for the Latinx zines link! All three of the zines sound so good. ??
I hope Amazon’s A League of Their Own has some queer characters! If not I will feel very cheated.
I love Pepper Ann so much. I never really watched cartoons as a kid (except for The Simpsons), but I discovered Pepper Ann when I was in high school. Admittedly I first watched it because of the catchy theme song and the fact that she dresses as a Xena-like character during said theme, but after watching a few episodes I was hooked.
So when is Sofia Coppola making a movie about Anna Delvey (THAT STORY WAS SO GOOD LANEIA)
So me and a friend are playing a game where we imagine Sofia Coppola making a movie (that kinda completely misses reflexivity) out of this about a middle class white woman fooling all these rich people and finding prison “interesting”
So far we have: Chloe Grace Moretz in the main role and Zoe Kravitz as Neff.
Thoughts?
