  1. Nicole Chung’s piece about going to Disney after her father’s funeral hurt so good. A close friend lost her dad to cancer a month ago and it’s made me contemplate how I’ll feel when my father goes. I have a rocky relationship with him to say the least, and I don’t really want him in my life. It’s a strange exercise, thinking whether or not I’ll cry, or miss him, or wish things had been different. But just thinking about my mom dying sends me to a very dark place because I can’t fathom handling so much pain. Blood family versus found family is a big part of being young and queer, I guess. But for all her faults, my mom is a loving, supportive individual and if given the chance, I’d choose her to be my mom every time.

  2. At first I thought the hockey marriage tweet was just someone reposting that LAST usa/canada romance I saw a couple months ago… and I really, really appreciated that it was a brand new romance. Bless them.
