  1. Last Friday, at work, three of my coworkers asked me where my boobs are.

(actually, they asked “where are her two vanilla drops”, but we don’t need to unpack my one coworkers complete inability to use anatomical language rn)

    “you wear WHAT??”

    “that sounds bad for you”

    “isn’t that UNCOMFORTABLE????”

The study on binding thing speaks to me.

  2. The born sexy yesterday thing blew my mind. I love it when something is clear and obvious and staring you in the face but you haven’t synthesized it, and then someone does.

I will still always love the 5th Element, tho.

      • @freakazoid1980 @carmensandiego WAIT I KNOW THIS ONE

So May Day is, I believe, meant in part to commemorate the Haymarket Affair, which happened in Chicago and was generally seen by The Americans In Charge as an “anarchist uprising”, so it would be kind of weird for us to celebrate Labor Day on or near the anniversary of that event

(Incidentally, my great times I think four? Something Uncle was August Spies, who was hanged for purchasing the explosives used in said Affair. Whoops)

        • Yes, you’re right. The date was chosen by the Second International in 1891 in commemoration of the Haymarket affair. One weird detail is that, at that time, Anarchists were mostly excluded from the Second International.

The Haymarket affair “trial” was a mockery of justice, like any other trial involving anarchists at that time.

“The time will come when our silence will be more powerful than the voices you strangle today.” -August Spies

  3. Love that sharing article! I worked at a university infant/toddler/preschool center for a couple of years & when a child was using something, it was theirs to use. Play is the work of very young children, and forcing them to share prematurely ends their work with an object.

Also, all of the kids were sharing amazingly at earlier ages than kids I’ve observed in other environments. Turns out, forcing kids to share makes them more attached to items because they are fearful of them being taken away by other children!

  4. In fact, this question depends on the specific situation. Generally speaking, some common abbreviations or abbreviations, such as common abbreviations in the European Union (EU), will appear in the abstract of in English Abbreviations or abbreviations that are not clearly defined appear in the abstracts of English papers. It should be noted that many journals provide a list of frequently used abbreviations or acronyms that should not be defined, but some journals do not allow the use of abbreviation or acronyms in short article abstracts. We want to give students ideas. To be safe, it is best not to use abbreviations when students write English abstracts. We hope to help you!
