  1. The “gay cure” article is fascinating, thank you. I wish they’d chosen an other title though because except mentioning experiments to find a “gay cure”, it’s actually a profile of a mad scientist and his research mainly focusing on schizophrenia. I’m getting tired of poorly chosen titles to incite clicks.

And yes, what a wild week, it’s crazy (yet again).

  2. I always start thinking about my degree that qualifies me to become a police officer during times like this. During my classes, surrounded by tough-looking white boys, we learned about every possible sign of danger (razorblades in hats, in pants), that police officers are perpetually in danger, and that police officers always shoot to kill. And now I see what that kind of thing encourages, over and over and over again. It really is a license to kill anyone that seems vaguely dangerous, usually meaning minorities.

I don’t know if that’s how these classes go all over the country, but if it is, it needs changing. It’s only one piece of the puzzle, but we have to fix every piece to fix the problem.

  3. Here at the U of Iowa, ALL, *ALL* of the frats have off site party houses that do not fall under any of the rules that govern their “house”. It is totally a shame !!
