Also: that article on uterine transplants for trans women was interesting, but kind of misses a key point. A trans women either needs a uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries (to produce hormones and give of an egg each month) or a uterus, a fertilized donated egg and replace hormones. Getting all the hormones right seems complicated.
But if you transplant ovaries, the unmatured egg cells (oocytes), go with them. Any child born out of this situation would have the genetic materials of the donor. This is of course not unique, because it is the same for egg-donors (and sperm donors). A donor needs to fully understand and give consent beforehand. This is not always a possibility for organ donors. So should this be included in donor paperwork beforhand?
The whole thing raises some interesting ethical points. Fyi, I’m not against the idea, if it is medically doable. But we do need to think about these things.

I have an earnest question regarding Cardi B. I’ve heard her make several very transphobic comments and then avoid apologising or taking accountability. She pops up in queer media a lot and I’m just wondering if I missed something about her apologising for those comments. I know it was years ago and I am always happy to see people learn and grow. I just hadn’t seen anything when I’ve searched around. I’d be excited to be wrong!
