All Sunday Funday Wants For Christmas Is More Queer Terminator Movies

Hey little pinto beans, how are you? I am feeling so, so grateful for the folks I have in my life. My therapist and I (yeah, this just might become the “my therapist” section, it’s gonna be okay) were talking about how easy it is to ignore the plethora of good in your life and focus on the one thing that isn’t going well and how active gratitude might be the key to changing that habit. So y’all, I’m grateful for you! I’m grateful that you read my little ramblings here each week, I’m grateful I can find at least 10 good things each week to share with you, I’m grateful we have this cutie pie site to be with one another.

I know I’m not supposed to be sappy until the end, so let’s do the new before I start blubbering on y’all.

+ Actor/Writer/Wholesome Boi™ Brittani Nichols has released a pair of sneakers?! Cool Christmas present for your fresh foot loving pals, perhaps?

+ Remember when Olivia Wilde was angry at Delta for deleting the sex scenes from Booksmart? Well gaydies, you can now see lesbians lesbian on your next Delta flight over 90 minutes. Congrats comrades, we did it.

+ Blanche, a major Pokémon Go character is nonbinary!

+ Philadelphia’s mayor has signed three new bills protecting trans folks.

“The bills are a testament to the city’s continued commitment to centering the experience and safety of transgender, and gender non-conforming people,” Kenney said at the bill signing, according to KYW News Radio. “While we are proud of these achievements, we know there is much more we must build on and accomplish, and we are dedicated to meeting that challenge.”

+ Here are 15 podcasts for women, according to O Magazine.

+ Folsom Europe: Kink and Classical Music in Berlin

+ Spelman College has been gifted $2M to endow a chair in queer studies, the first ever for an HBCU.

+ Dickinson premiered on Apple TV+ and some people like it some people don’t.

+ Mariah Carey is ready for her Christmas royalties, this year premiering a brand new video to her hit song with unreleased footage?!

Terminator: Dark Fate is the gayest Terminator yet.

+ Olive Morris was a Black British women’s activist whose life is overlooked no more.

Alright little beans, I hope you have the best week you can have. I hope you don’t have to talk to Deborah at the water cooler, I hope you don’t have to hear from the white guy who takes up 40 minutes of class discussion each week with “I’m just playing devil’s advocate here…”, I hope you get hugs. Did you know we need 8 hugs a day just for maintenance??? Consider this one of your eight. I love you and I’ll see you soon!!!

  1. Eight hugs a day ! Wow have I been remiss. Here ya go Al(aina), first one out of the gate !

That review stoked me for Terminator Dark Fate. Looks like I’ve also been remiss in the “Aging-into-a-Total-Badass dept. I’ll get right on that after my nap…

  2. I LOVE YOU BABE AND I LOVE THESE REMINDERS FROM YOU AND YOUR THERAPIST AND I LOVE THE XMAS HEADLINE!!!!!!! *hugging you right back!*

  3. Two daddies fighting over a femme outside a dyke bar sounds like Saturday night. I can’t wait to see Terminator!

As a gay lady historian who gets history mansplained by students on the regular, I can totally sympathize with women having to listen to a dude play devil’s advocate for an entire class. Stay strong, fellow female educators!

  4. I need to see the Terminator movie. I only saw the original ones for the first time last year, so I’m not one to rush into things.

  5. Thanks for that podcast article. I’ve told myself over and over to listen to podcasts and I always go back to music.
I do have a question: does anyone have any recommendations for good queer podcasts? I’ll be making a Thanksgiving family trip soon that I’m dreading and maybe a podcast or two would help.

    • My favorite queer podcasts are Queery, Nancy and Food 4 Thot. The first two are compelling and the third is raunchy, hilarious and compelling. All 3 are so good!

    • I second those and also the podcast History is Gay! And Buffering the Vampire Slayer is very queer. And also the Dear Prudence podcast is very queer (even though it’s often queer people sorting out straight people’s problems – worth it).

    • Hi! I love audiodramas and there’s some kind of unwritten rule that these are just randomly queer and very inclusive. Marsfall is sci fi, the Bright Sessions are superpowered and deal a lot with mental health (rumor has it they started the inclusivity trend) The Once and Future Nerd actually has a lesbian love story on the side and is poly and pan (it starts slow and cliche, but don’t be deterred, things take..a lot of turns) We Fix Space Junk is a social satire, and I think Girl in Space is asexual, or well, she really loves cheese.

      • That goes way back – I listened to old radio dramas, like The Phantom and Green Hornet or especially the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes starring Sir John Gielgud, who was hella gay. All those buddy adventure dramas are seriously GAY

  6. So much good stuff here! Especially appreciating the piece about Olive Morris, and the Terminator hotness. Thank you!

  7. Ouch. I missed TDF in cinemas for health reasons but this sounds ominous. I’m all for Linda Hamilton – but even though i knew they could fuck up with a terminator sequel, i honestly did not see a 90s Unthreatening Bumbling Nobody T-800 in the range of possibilities. *sigh* live and learn.
