19 Pairs of Large Size Shoes for Under $50

Scoring cute shoes under $50 is no easy feat, especially when you wear a hard-to-find size. Sam Riedel broached this issue in a recent piece for Autostraddle, noting that Payless is “the only store to ever sell women’s size 11 shoes at a price point low-income trans chicks can afford.” While that’s hardly hyperbole (and Payless does have a lot of cute stuff right now), I’ve managed to track down a few more options! Below, 19 pairs of flats, sandals, and pumps up to at least a size 13 — all for under $50, and many with additional coupon codes for on-site savings.

  1. <3. i'm a cis woman with size 14 (US)/12 (UK)/46 (EU) feet. I used to only be able to find the most ridiculous large size shoes online before (the kind a drag queen would only wear while performing at a bar). I'm so happy some businesses are flourishing in this niche market (even though a lot of them chose to stop their sizes a size JUST under mine!).

the hardest though is to find QUALITY shoes at that size. A lot of them are sort of poorly made sadly, and are either really uncomfortable to wear or will only last for half a season before breaking down :(

    • A good example is Long Tall Sally, whose shoes used to be not really well made. They’ve really fixed that problem and now make super cute, really sturdy shoes :D

For non north-americans, LTS is from the UK, and ships pretty much anywhere (although free returns are only available in limited countries sadly).

      • I did not know about LTS until you mentioned it. Thank you, thank you, thank you <3. It's nice that they carry a few sizes above mine, which is some much needed flexibility in my shoe choosing. I've often foregone trying to find a larger at size at places like DSW and suffered through wearing a pair of shoes until they "broke in" some. That really doesn't work when you definitely need the next size up.

    • I am US 12/EU 44 and have the same problem, but also might have wisdom to share:
      – Shoes of Prey have been fairly good quality in my experience and offer both size and width custom sizing (everything is custom).
      – Torrid shoes used to be horrible quality but have gotten way, way better. Years ago I had many instances of their wedges coming apart between the sole pad and the heel but the pairs I have bought in the last year have seemed much better constructed.

      • Also they only go up to US 12 (and then only sometimes) but John Fluevog has some very eccentric styles for both heels and boots that have held up for years for me.

  2. Great job Nora!
My difficulty is with wide shoes. My wife has wide feet and those wide sizes are not easy to find.

  3. thank you so much!! someone i care about a lot just came out and they’re always looking over my shoulder when i window shop online and hinting at shoes they like, then being disappointed their size isn’t available. their birthday is coming up next month so yay :)

  4. Yes yes yes thank you! I’d never heard of Long Tall Sally but looks like I’m gonna be doing a deep dive into their stock
