Hey, space rangers and vampire slayers! May A-Camp is right around the corner, which means we are pleased to announce a really awesome sponsored campership.  Scout’s Honor Clothing Company is offering a campership to one lucky human! YOU COULD BE THAT HUMAN!

Founder and owner, Clare Myers

Founder and owner, Clare Myers

A small start-up owned and operated by Clare Myers, Scout’s Honor Clothing Company is “clothing for modern tomboys.” Everything Scout’s Honor creates is done so in San Francisco in limited editions. Inspired by the community surrounding queer fashion blogs, Clare saw the opportunity to explore the intersections of fashion and identity in a new, accessible way.

“Here were folks who, like me, were figuring out how to express their authentic selves through clothing….Everyone [featured on the blogs] looked great, but readers were always writing in to ask where they could find clothes like this, clothes that fit and that were truly made for them. I wanted that, too. So I decided to make it happen.”

Offering this Campership is, for Clare, not only a way to send someone to camp who ordinarily wouldn’t be able to, but also to share the spirit of tomboy fashion that characterizes Scout’s Honor.

  • A short essay in response to this prompt:

Scout’s Honor Clothing believes in both nature walks and city walks. We’re passionate about journeying to parts unknown, or walking the same old path with fresh eyes. We thrive upon the promise of a daylong adventure. Tell us about an adventure you’re looking to have at Camp and how it relates to your journey.

Additionally, any candidates should be totally up for appearing on the Scout’s Honor Clothing Company website with a photograph of you wearing your gear at camp with possibly a little paragraph about you. All righty, hop to it, campers!

    • Hi Lisa, it’s Clare! Thank you so much. Yes, please please please apply! If you’re the lucky camper and the XL doesn’t work for you, I can hook you up with a baseball tee in 2X and we’ll figure out another little something to make up the difference. Maybe a custom neckerchief? xoxo

  1. Scout’s Honor along with Tradlands is where I shop for shirts now. I will not gripe and complain that the nice looking dress shirts in the men’s dept do not fit my busty front. Hooray for Autostraddle for pointing me to the right places to shop and to support local business!!! =) I raise my flask to your campership!!! Or as someone once said “LIFECHANGERSHIP”
