Michelle Obama is great. she’s intelligent, diplomatic, kind, and has struck what looks like a good balance of involvement as FLOTUS. Her answer was appropriate, progressive, should appeal to people who care about child rearing and values and that whole block.

However, I don’t like the idea that there is a “correct” way to answer. There isn’t a right or wrong “answer” to “Please tell us about your family discussions about marriage equality and thank President Obama for his support”, but her answer didn’t actually answer that question. Her answer is great, but it doesn’t explain what the family discussions were. Really, she evaded the question.
