At my school we once polled the students and asked why they didn’t read our paper. About 80% said it was because sometimes (the newsprint) gets their hands dirty…so we’ve accepted that roughly 80% of the students won’t ever read our newspaper.
It’s sad that print is leaving so quickly. Even big newspapers like the Seattle Post-Intelligencer (the more liberal paper in Seattle) went out of print early this year.
It’s really nice to hear that the staff is trying to continue. They’ll make it happen, in time, for sure

I cannot tell you how amazing Southern Voice was. I read it all the time in the 90s, in Atlanta. This was before the internets were super popular, and we didn’t have an Autostraddle! We had Sassy Magazine and Southern Voice! So, you should all thank Miss Riese!
