True statement. I probably should have made that clearer — after all, marginalization/perceptions of identity are subjective and in this case can be very specific to one person’s situation, etc. etc. But yes, the ‘you don’t look/act like (x)’ reaction sucks regardless of your identity/whether or not it is typically seen as marginalized.

I get the same reaction when I tell people that I’m a Christian. I’m falling in love again with poetry this week, Autostraddle, and I thank you for it.
