  1. That was the sexiest and awesomest article ever(it’s printed out and stuck up on my wall). As such, this will become my new favourite playlist. I’m too busy creating a youtube playlist out of these songs to make any suggestions… I’ll be back soon when I don’t want to wee with excitement.

  2. Niiiice!!

The first song that came to mind was Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry Be Happy” (DON’T JUDGE ME PEOPLE).

Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” is my current obsession & it reminds me to just not give a fuck every single day.

Celia Cruz “La Vida Es Un Carnaval”
    The Cranberries “Not Sorry”
    Metallica “Master Of Puppets”
    Ozzy Osbourne “Crazy Babies”
    Rihanna “Hard”
    Soilwork “Stabbing The Drama”
Spice Girls “Who Do You Think You Are”

I can already tell that I am going to love this comment thread.

  3. 99 problems -Jay – Z

        A) Tequila straight out of the bottle
        B) Hot, sweaty blond
        C) Bra-less
        D) Fuckkk.

And oh. She has a nice voice too.

Friends, I present to you Lissie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmsbHGEB6UU

  4. Ooooh.

Include ‘Fuck you’ (or the radio version ‘forget you :-P) By Cee Lo Green :-D

  5. I can’t believe it, I have 12 of the 16 on playlists in my ipod, usually I am so out of it.

    I would add:

Pat Benatar – hit me with your best shot (love that song!)
Colbie Caillat – the little things (beautifully moody)
All American Rejects – give you hell, move along and dirty little secret
    Stevie Nicks – landslide
Velvet Underground – femme fatale (its sooo dreamy)
Beach Boys – I Can Hear Music, God Only Knows (carl wilson’s voice literally brings tears to my eyes)

Listened to a lot of rock growing up – have all my parents LPs: beatles, doors, beach boy, velvet underground, etc records. Love that stuff.

Parents told me I would walk around singing “hit me with your best shot” until they got totally tired of the song.

  6. diVINYLS – I Aint Gonna Eat Out Of My Heart Anymore…

    • Common Rider, wow, I’ve never met anyone who even knows who they are. Awesome! I have a lot of feelings about the Last Wave Rockers album. I think one of the feelings is that my body now wants to produce tears.

“‘Cause the shoreline makes the heart open like a rose . . .”

      • “She found a song on the radio and it wiped all the blood off my halo. We were two kids whose hearts were their own. Toughest that the world has ever known!”

Yay, a fellow Common Rider fan! *fist bump* Every time I listen to them I get a flash of 16-year-old me steadily making my way through the entire Lookout! Records catalog. Dammit, Jesse Michaels, why do you have such a hard time keeping your bands together?

    • Wow…a lot of songs I haven’t heard before…will check out this weekend.

Some great titles that would be worth having on my ipod just for the title to pop up, my two favorites:

“I hate your fucking guts” and “don’t let the bastards grind you down”, got to check those out….

      • Yeah, those songs are worth having for the titles alone! “Don’t Let the Bastards Grind You Down” is also surprisingly danceable, which is always a nice bonus :)

  12. Gossip – Standing in the Way Of Control

Awesome playlist :) I had a uniquely shitty week at work last week and definitely need some anthems to reinforce my strictly no fuck giving policy.

  13. Xxzxcuzx Me – Crystal Castles
    Hit Me Hard – Slagsmålsklubben
    Total Trash – Sonic Youth
Oh My God – Ida Maria
    Silent Shout – The Knife
Diamanter & Kirsebær – John Olav Nilsen
Now is the Only Time I Know – Fever Ray
    New York – Sex Pistols

that what I do (but I’m not sure this made any sense).

    Erika M. Anderson “California” : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BacPDrDeY8U

and of course I’m a Sick Puppy since a year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Vg837NhpqM “Welcome 2 My World”

  15. Whatever Happened-The Strokes

    Vedera- Still Standing

Yes, I have a bias towards 90s music.

  21. Hm. I feel like a majority of my ipod fits this theme, or at least I interpret it as such.

    Gouge Away- The Pixies
If I Ever Leave This World Alive- Flogging Molly
    Dreams- TV on the Radio
Jockey Full of Bourbon- Tom Waits
    Sea Lion- Sage Francis

Just Like You Imagined- NIN (or um, anything)
    Scapegoat- Atmosphere
    Straight to Hell- The Clash
    Meets His Maker- DJ Shadow

I mean, I feel that these songs are best suited to driving cross country with all your shit in the trunk of the car and all of the fucks you gave left somewhere else.

Or for my morning commute. whatever.

    • Flogging Molly makes excellent “I don’t give a fuck let’s get drunk!” music. “Seven Deadly Sins” and “Drunken Lullabies” are my personal favorites for this purpose.

  22. Not sure if it’s been posted before, but Rebel Girl – Bikini Kill is the fucking shit. I drive this incredibly heteronormative cis guy to school most mornings, and blasted that really loudly when I picked him up the other day. He gave me a look, then decided not to fuck with me.

  23. oh right – and anytime I’m angry / frustrated / whatevs – nothing helps like a little bit o’Slipknot.
    People = Shit
