  1. “those nights when you’re drunk and silly and snuggly, and want to love up your lady with a grin”

Totally did that last week to some 90’s hits mix on youtube. All kinds of amazing.

  2. way to bring back swv. fucking awesome.
also, throw in “one in a million” by aaliyah. golden.

i was so devastated when she died.

  3. Anyone else down with ‘freak me’ by another level? My girlfriend loves that song but I get the feeling that if I ever had sex to that song it would be very close to crossing the cheesy to sleazy line

  4. awwww, shit! i love every song on this list. bringing back memories of my childhood and shit, lol. i still listen to “always be my baby”. now add “pretty brown eyes” by mint condition, and “anniversary” by tony toni tone, and the list will be complete.

  5. 1. Glad to know I’m not the only one who appreciates Janet Jackson’s “If.”. Although I’m probably the only one who imagines Janet singing it TO me.

    2. Poison. Yes! Sorry I’m not sorry. And You’re Making Me High! And No Diggity! Okay, I need to stop now.

    3. Was slightly surprised that Boyz II Men didn’t make the list.

This post/playlist made my day. I like 90s R&B a lot more than I should.

  6. “get it on tonite” – montel jordan (1999)
“too close” – next (1998) (best dirty lyrics!)
    “nobody” – keith sweat (1996)
“nite and day” al. b sure (it’s 1988 but i still like it)

  7. yes yes! this is like my adolescence in a playlist. Does anyone here remember those Monsta Jamz cds they used to sell on tv? LOVED those!

but there is one song that is not on this list that should be otherwise this list is PERFECT

    Knockin’ the Boots – H-Town

Awww yeahhh, baby, time to do something sexy 4 all the ladies out there ::sexy black dude voice::

  8. This has me grinning like a kid and I seriously have to restrain myself so as not to add a list that goes on forever! Songs that definitely make my list;
    Jodeci: Stay 1991
    High Five: Fly away 1992
    Intro: Come Inside 1993
    Joe: The Love Scene 1997
    702: Get It Together 1996
Johnny Gill: There U Go 1992
    Tevin Campbell: Shhh 1993
    R Kelly: Honey Love 1992
Backstreet Boys: If You Stay 1997
    Maxwell: Whenever, Wherever, Whatever 1996

My adolescent years revisited, I doubt that I’ll ever tire of 90’s R&B.

  9. my ex girlfriend and i had a running joke right after we first met/were taken with each other that when we finally got down to gettin down, it would be by candlelight and entirely soundtracked by all 4 one and boyz ii men. this eventually turned into my roommate walking in on me and this girl (at the time a total stranger to my poor roommate) making out on the couch, far from sober, BLASTING barry white’s “i’m qualified to qualify you.” i don’t know either.

  10. Always and Forever – Luther Vandross (1994)
My Funny Valentine – Chaka Khan (1995)
    Sweet Love – Me’Shell Ndegeocello (1993)
    If I Were A Bell – Teena Marie (1990)

  11. Ah, so many great ones listed already! Here are more to add:

Aaliyah – One in a Million; Hot Like Fire
Janet Jackson – That’s The Way Love Goes; Go Deep
Brandy – I Wanna Be Down; Baby
SWV – Right Here (Human Nature Radio Mix)
    Tamia – So Into You
    112 – Only You; Anywhere
LL Cool J – Doin’ It
    Avant – Ecstasy
    LSG – My Body
    Dru Hill – Tell Me
    Jagged Edge – Promise
    Silk – Freak Me
    R. Kelly – Bump n’ Grind

I’ll stop here before the 90’s R&B nostalgia completely takes over ;)
