Playlist: A-Camp Dance Party, Revisited

click for more a-camp

Exactly one week ago, A-Camp wrapped its final night on the mountain with a shadowy, super queer, pulsating little dance party dj’d by yours truly. Because we can’t stop thinking of that magical weekend — and planning the next one — let’s relive the magic! Here are the songs we danced / lived / loved to. And of course you can follow me on Facebook to keep up with all my party-starting exploits!

Wish you were here / we were there / infinity, etc.

  1. as much as i love this i gotta remind you that next time we must play ‘the motto’

    #yolo

    • Somehow it WASN’T ON MY COMPUTER! Ugh. Next time I will play it, promise.

  2. Oh my god my shoes are in that photo.

This was such an epic night <3 I'm going to download this playlist and jam by myself and just smile.

  3. I still feel sad that my internet disappeared for a week or two and it took me aaaaaages to work out what ‘A Camp’ meant and why everyone was going on about it.

  4. uhm through the magic of this playlist, i can pinpoint my exact moments of stepping away to drink, reentering to dance, which chicks and bros i danced with and the precise second where i almost turned into a hot mess.

so thanks but i think i need to go process somethings now.

    #feelings

    love this

    • Omg me too. And judging by how many songs there were between events I remember, everything happened way faster than it seemed!

  5. is it weird that ‘call me maybe’ will forever remind me of a-camp?

(except it also reminds me of the unmade arrested development remix called ‘call me maebe’ that someone needs to make)

  6. now I will be able to have mini-dance parties that remind me of A-Camp, thanks!
The dance was the best thing.

  7. So I don’t remember too too much about that night (!!) but I do remember everyone yelling every word of ‘we are young’ and I got the shivery goosebumps because it was SUCH A MOMENT.

  8. everyone singing along to “we are young” at the end of the night was absolutely epic

and I hate that word but really it is the only one I can think of to describe just how amazing it was

  9. Yay! Awesome job, Carly. Dancing to Robyn and Le Tigre with my cabin are some of my favorite memories from camp.

  10. I just want it noted that I loved (and still love, and will always love) the fact that Cherry Bomb is on this.

  11. why thank you!
I am hardcore studying for finals right now and “I feel better” has been playing on repeat for hours. I don’t know why but it mixes well with phenomenology.

plus: the video ist the best. it goes from “wtf” straight to “BAHAHAHA”.

  12. Aaaaand again I was off somewhere getting drunk and missing ALL THE FUCKING MOMENTS.

  13. How was this only a week ago? It feels like too significant to have just happened.

Already reunioned with new camp friends. Such lesbians.

  14. This looks amazing but every dance party can be made more awesome with Heartbeats by The Knife!

  15. So i’ve been listening to this playlist non-stop for about four days. At first, it was because i needed to feel close to the rhythms and emotions of A-camp.

I’m still listening cuz this shit is fire. Come back to NYC and spin at party that you throw, dude. Pleeease.
